California probably isn't the state to play that particular card in: their prison standards are so... exemplary... that they've been judged a violation of 8th-amendment prohibitions on cruel and unusual punishment.

then why are they so fucking expensive? state finances are in the shitter, but prison and teacher perks keep going up and up. public sector unions should be illegal. can you imagine if a steelworker's union bribed the CEO to give them a soft deal? everybody would go to prison. what a joke.

the AC's analogy fials because you could just as easily do such an act with just stopping yoru car at the airport. this whole thing is very violating because wehn you use a valet you trust that they won't mess with your stuff. if they can't do that the whole valet thing goes away. i disagree with harrier and that the problem isn't when they damage it, the damage is the breach of trust.

I think with global warming we'll find these "1 in 700" events occuring more regularly, and being more destructive. katrina, sandy, what next? the big dealio is that these are stronger than storms in the past, and overwhelm our defences that were built in a pre-global-warming world. we essentially need to go back to the drawing board and design defenses that protect us from global warming storms. face it... even if we stop CO2 emissions today (technically possible, but lacking political will), we'll feel the effects for the next 100 years. way to go industrial revolution through 1980, but suck to be us...

whats the big whoop? i got a pack of them for like $5. the protector itself is scratched up a bit from being in the pocket with my keys. one could argue that the gorilla glass wouldn't get scratched up like this, but whatever... at any time i can switch out my screen protector no problem. also, doesn't affect usage at all, you wouldn't notice.
