i was also "diagnosed" with higher IQ in my twenties. The fact is that I had always been lazy, and what I accomplished easily took my sis or my mates 3 or 4 times the effort. To this date I have always been able to pick up any difficulties thrown along the way. I have also been an expat for years. Have I been worrying about a postdoc or whatever? No way. it is not worthy the effort. Mostly it is just a scam. Do you know to be rubber-stamped by a bunch of peers to realize your full potential? You surely are jesting me sir. As for happiness, intelligence does come with burdens. You realize much quicker the shit people and the establishment are trowing at you. Often you also do not worry about so other stuff that people take for granted. You also see through the lies of politics and religion or organised "sports". Need I say more?

It is good you prefer to pay more and not have resident people tendering and taking care of your own business. Have you considered also outsourcing the local idiots and finding another line of work? Be careful about the poisons you choose, I have worked with indian expats, and to date I am not impressed. They say yes to everything and are geniuses on paper, in practice their concepts are weak and the work shoddy. The things my actually go well for a while, normally either it takes very incompetent people to fuck it all in the first few months, but without experienced people give it 1 or 2 years time, and you will notice the cheapest route is more expensive. Actually people understand this concept about maintaining a car, but not IT or their businesses. Sweet. Good luck, you will sure need it, douchebag.

Mode me down all day long in opinion, if you want. Which is not the way mod points should be use but I digress. The fact is that the uptime of a Windows machine can only be measured in months, or actually weeks, OS/X unfortunately for me and others, is crashing at least once or twice a week while it used to be rock solid for months before 10.8, and the uptime of Linux boxes can be measured in months or years, and often I only take them down to do a kernel upgrade. But obviously the slashdot crowd knows best.

You are completely out of your head...in fact Linux supports even better older and newer machines alike. Recently I had to reinstall one old desktop and two older laptops. Windows has not cooperating, it was a walk in the park installing linux, no drivers hassle, nothing at all. Plus, in one of the notebooks I had a specific request for Linux for a non-IT user because they are already tired of dealing with malware.
