Me personally, I have never had to use nore seen a fire extinguisher used. And in 20 years of driving only had to use a spare once. Does that mean I don't need those tools around should I need them ? Hell no. So id like to have the tools at hand to defend myself even if I haven't been mugged or had my home broken into.

to scratch gorilla glass i don't think a screen protector is going to help much lol. My 5 year old managed to nick the screen on my android tablet using a cheap dollarstore stylus. If it had a screen protector, im pretty sure it would have just carved a groove in the screen protector and still nicked the glass. Everything still works fine so im not worried.

Except GZ didn't initiate anything with TM. he followed someone in a neighborhood that has had multiple break ins. Sorry, but depending on how TM was walking at 2am with his hoodie up would make most people want to follow that person to see what they were up to. If he was walking with confidence back straight id not take a second look. Someone walking all hunched up looking at the houses he was passing would make me slow down and take a look likely call 911 and report them. would i follow them ? maybe depending on their actions. if as soon as they saw my car coming they sped up or took off running. id see if i could locate them.
If they stopped and looked at me id likely pull up and talk to that person ask them what they were up to that the neighborhood has had some break ins and i was just seeing who they were. but like always hind sight is 20/20 everyone is a genius when they look back on a situation or look at a situation (armchair quarterbacks backseat drivers ect). if they ran off between some houses i may get out to get the house numbers to report to 911. if said suspect attacked me on my way back to the vehicle is that self defense on their part ? fuck no. That is assault. if that person pinned me on the ground and started beating my head into the ground and punching me in the face id sure as shit shoot them if i was armed. if i wasn't armed id likely be dead. the human head cant take many hard blows before it is lethal.

There is also a difference between a 911 operator and an actual police officer. a 911 operator will tell people not to shoot the axe wielding maniac hacking down someones door. no one has to listen to a 911 operator they are not a police officer. And as stated there is a difference between "Stop following the suspect" and "we dont need you to continue following him sir".

just because someone has a lot of guns means nothing to their mental state. someone could own 200 so called "Assault rifles" and never shoot more than paper.
just as someone who owns no legal firearms couldn't go out and buy one off the street and kill everyone in a McDonald's.

The Number and type of firearms someone owns really is a moot point. the gunman from sandy hook (i refuse to give his name more air time) didn't own any guns himself. he blew his mothers face off getting her guns. she allowed him to take her guns to the range. but was also trying to get him mental help and kept getting denied. she really shouldn't have let him anywhere near them, but he would have gotten the guns he needed no matter what. it was just easier to kill his mother to get hers than to go and try and buy one on the black market. he could have just as easily gone to "visit" one of the people from the gun range and killed them for their guns.

the main issue here is mental health and gangs. if we could separate the numbers into gang related, suicide, legal gun owners, and police shootings. Im pretty sure suicide and gang crime firearm deaths would be far higher than legal gun owners.

the govt told gun stores to sell to known straw purchasers saying "they were tracking them", and later told said gun store owners they would shut them down if they went to the press about it.

they couldn't have "tracked" the guns without them in their possession.

in my views ordering gun stores to sell to known straw purchasers that have ties to Mexican drug gangs, then threatening the gun stores when the govt realized they couldn't track said guns IS supplying the gangs with guns. plain and simple.

These companies proposing these things think they are dealing with sane and rational people with their technology. it all falls to pieces when they are dealing with someone that will stop at nothing to do what they want. the guy in question obliterated his mothers face with a 22.lr why would he stop and think "oh damn the gun is keyed to her finger prints i cant do it anymore" no he is going to think "hmmm il just kill her. cut off a finger and we are good to go"

Glocks don't need a manual safety, the gun is designed so that when the trigger is at rest, there is a block that comes up and holds the firing pin from moving, the firing pin is also not cocked back until the trigger is pulled back (works like a Revolver). the trigger is the safety, the trigger is a 2 piece trigger, both parts need to be pulled for it to move. Glock handguns are a very safe design of handgun.
