The "blogger" who posted that Mr. Scalise talked to a white nationalist group got the "story" from the son of the Democrat who ran against Scalise in Louisiana. They had this "info" during the campaign but didn't run it because they knew it to be a lie. Their supposed source, whom they won't name, supposedly had a photo of Scalise at the event, but oops - it got accidentally deleted! So, conveniently, there is no evidence of their libelous claim.

The blogger posted this lie in order to paint the new Republican majority as racist because Scalise he was going to be the House Majority Whip. Scalise wasn't there to talk to a white supremacist group, but spoke earlier in the day to a neighborhood association. The person who organized the EURO conference just also happened to be president of the neighborhood association and used the conference availability to set up a meeting of his neighborhood's association.

In short, this is a left-wing hit piece backed by no evidence.

So, it's a Republican idea if a guy who is a complete leftist and just wears the name "Republican" happens to propose it and it is shot down by the Republican party? (Sen. John Chafee was the leader on the bill - just to show how conservative he was, he also wrote a bill to ban the manufacture or sale of handguns and/or ammunition, and was pro-abortion and pro-homosexual rights back in the 90's when it wasn't trendy, etc. On social issues, Chafee was amongst the most leftist in the Senate - Democrats included.) In 1993, he joined with Democratic Louisiana Senator John Breaux to form the Senate Mainstream Coalition, a coalition of six Democratic and six Republican Senators seeking bipartisan consensus on health reform

The bill Chafee authored was not even brought up for a vote because the rest of the GOP wanted nothing to do with it. The ACA is no more "recycled Republican ideas" than White Nationalism is "recycled Democrat ideas" because of Senator Robert Byrd's prior affiliation with the KKK.

This is going nowhere. Some activists did the same thing in 1999 and a court of appeals overruled the board in 2003. There is nothing new here (which the board's dissenter noted). The court of appeals will rule that the complainants did not have standing to bring the trademark challenge.

This is not comparable. The Bush email system was an attempt to obey the law - specifically, the Hatch Act. The Hatch Act prohibits using government property to engage in partisan politics. The NRC and Bush set up a private email system and issued laptops that would use that system so that communications with the NRC would not run afoul of the Hatch Act. There were allegations that some governmental business was conducted on this email system. Also, the LA Times stated only that "thousands" of emails may have been lost - not 5 million. The 5 million allegation came from a partisan report citing "confidential sources." The NRC was not obligated under the law to retain emails. The IRS was obligated to retain and print hard copies of the emails and the "crashes" occurred shortly after Congress launched an inquiry.

They subpoena organizations because the systems are theirs - not the individuals. Hence, the subpoena was directed to the IRS. They also need to be directed to the organizations that Lerner and her flunkies communicated with - the White House, the DOJ & the FEC. Of course, Obama will then assert "executive privilege."

The IRS Inspector General's office stated in a letter that only 6 groups with “progress” or “progressive” in their names were given any scrutiny at all for potential political activity, while 70 percent of “progressive” groups received no additional scrutiny. The letter continued, “In comparison, 100 percent of the tax-exempt applications with Tea Party, Patriots, or 9/12 in their names were processed as potential political cases” and subjected to intrusive scrutiny. Finally, the letter concluded that it “did not find evidence that the IRS used [the term “Progressive”] as selection criteria for potential political cases.”

Further, all of the leftist political groups received their approval very quickly whereas most of the tea part groups have waited years and still haven't received approval of their applications! The reason why "repubs" are still "fucking this dead story" is because it isn't dead you brain-dead fucktard. Nixon merely wanted to use the IRS to oppress his political opponents but was denied - Obama fucking succeeded!

The computers of six people who were targets of Congressional investigation almost simultaneously crash and the backups deleted (without the effected computers having their emails restored shortly after the crash as would normally be the case) AND they can't locate the local or backup copies of the emails on the recipient computers or backup systems?

What about where the emails were sent? The emails that were "lost" were sent to the White House, the Department of Justice (Lerner sent other emails that we know of trying to coordinate with DOJ to try to drum up prosecutions of Tea Party groups) and the FEC to try to target any alleged political speech. Each of these departments should have independent backups and records on each of the recipient's computers.

A member of the House has already sent a request to the NSA for any metadata it may have on Lerner's emails. Hopefully this will help track down any "lost" emails and who the recipients were.

Wow. IRS targets conservative groups during run-up to Presidential election when Democrat President is incumbent and it's the GOP that doing "mouth-breathing bullshit" and their efforts to investigate are slimy and empty? What facts would constitute evidence of wrongdoing?

• How about the fact that the IRS admitted to wrongdoing?
• How about the fact that Lerner took the 5th because her actions in the matter may incriminate her criminally?
• How about her coordination with the DOJ and FTC to target these same conservative groups?
• How about her planting a question in the audience at an unrelated event in order to sell her cover story before the scandal broke with the press?
• How about the bullshit story that the targeting was only done by a couple of "rogue employees" in Cincinnati?
• How about the fact that the IRS conveniently cannot recover her emails to the White House, the DOJ and the FTC (the very organizations which the investigation was looking into)?
• How about the fact that the IRS is now reporting that it can also not locate the emails for six more employees at the center of the investigation?

This administration's dissimulation and lies are only making this story worse. Their stories are regularly changing, they're claiming the "dog ate my emails" and the trail of this scandal keeps going up higher and higher in the chain of command in this administration.

This is merely empty mouth-breathing bullshit and slimy political posturing? Would you be so glib about this if these things happened during a Republican administration? If you wouldn't mind illuminating everyone, could you please tell us what criminal actions you would be worthy of investigation? How much evidence is necessary to show corruption? Do you need to have Obama smoking a joint rolled in the printed emails? Does he have to be caught with his hand feeding the shredder or sneaking down the halls of the IRS with a huge degausser wiping hard drives?

Republicans at least had the decency to ask Nixon to step down when 18 minutes turned up missing from the tapes. Democrats blow off every scandal and criminal act they commit as "political theater."
