Senators are too busy designing pork barrels to design rockets.
And NASA is too busy with "Muslim Outreach" to bother with actual space missions.
Someone bring me my flux capacitor!
The questions is not "where is my flux capacitor" but "when is my flux capacitor". You're just not thinking fourth-dimensionally.
Ahem... from wikipedia: "The Church Committee was the United States Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities, a U.S. Senate committee chaired by Senator Frank Church (D-ID) in 1975."
< Dana Carvey Mode ON>
Well, isn't that special.

Once again a slashdotter is advocating to take away a musician's right to make a prophet.
Well done. I'd +1 but you're already at 5.
I didn't know dire wolves were real. I just thought it was some BS that George R. R. Martin came up with.
Of course they're real, they're large 5 hit die creatures that have a bite attack and can trip with that attack. You often see druids and rangers taking them as animal companions.
And Jerry Garcia even wrote about them. Of course they're real
In the backwash of Fennario
The black and bloody mire
The dire wolf collects his due
While the boys sing 'round the fire
Don't murder me, I beg of you
Don't murder me, please, don't murder me
No.
In this case, it's true. Science can never be settled. Sure he'll finally marry some theory and have 2.3 kids and a dog and live in a ranch house in the suburbs but Science will still have those yearnings to be free, and he'll leave that theory to go cling to another, younger theory. Science will be doomed to repeat this until eventually he'll wind up a syphilitic old fart in a rest home, with strings of drool hanging from his mouth.
Settled? No.
Just not in prison..
There's nothing as nice as surprise wakeup sex.
Unless you're in prison.
What is THAT supposed to mean? That the grass is greener at the other side of the Pond? Somebody really lost hist touch with reality...
Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Maybe a "hit" taken out by disgruntled Ohio auto dealers?
Oh no. The Ohio dealers are fully gruntled.
Well, the upper midwest has the two seasons: winter and road constructions.
There's a sign at the Oregon border: "Welcome to Oregon. Road Construction Next 300 miles"
We moved 5 years ago out to the country. We are within sight of town but all that is offered to be is a 4G card from Verizon. No DSL (across the street they have it). No cable (houses to the north are the last ones on the line), no WISP (too many trees close to me), no fiber (main trunk line is across the street but no branches). I feel for you
I also have the tree issue (100' Douglas firs) but I've found a WISP that uses the 900Mhz Motorola Canopy system that works pretty well through the trees. The other end is about 2.3 miles away. It gives me 1.3Mbs which is not a speed demon by any stretch but it does beat the pants off of 33Kbs dialup.
IF I HAD A MINE SHAFT, I don't think I would just abandon it. There's got to be a better way. -- Jack Handley, The New Mexican, 1988.
