This is a great day for FreeBSD folk, now FreeBSD is even faster then W8 in some benchmarks. The closed source driver is a non-issue as long as nVidia would provide continuous support for it. Lots of key software is now working on FreeBSD like Libre and Apache office suites. PlayStation 4 is using FreeBSD too, so the AMD driver could also happen, interesting times!

PC games will be limited due to 32bit backwards compatibility issue, like 50% of the market is still 32bit. So buy yourself 16GB of RAM, but no game is gonna use it. Per process limit (32bit Windows) is about 2GB.. Cheers.

Not backwards compatible. The problem is that the old Xbox 360 has IBM Power inside while this new one is gonna get AMD64. The new CPU will probably not be that much faster, but the GPU should be plenty fast.

There other interesting tidbits revealed in this case. It looks like there are groups of people that actively use open source software to exploit ideas whithin them for their gains.
