Microsoft wont blame themselves for any difference between actual and total expected sales. They'll just prefer to blame the console market for being dead.
The only figure that will force MS to face reality is the actual difference between Xbox One and PS4 sales.

I would presume, though, that the fact that a natural plant like this can't be patented, copyrighted, or otherwise maneuvered into having a government-granted monopoly, corporations are fighting tooth and nail to keep it down as long as they can.
Domain blocking has been so successful already. No one will figure out how to use alternative DNS servers, or simply type in the IP address manually.
I already compile a list of IPs for sites I like to frequent - white hat, black hat, or otherwise.
