My Amiga would crash if I looked at it funny (then again, I had all kinds of things rigged up to it) -- although I remember doing the most amazing crap *ever* on a computer with that old Amiga 1000... Seriously, that was a wonderful, wonderful piece of hardware, and there's never been anything like it, even to this day. Dynamic ramdisk? We still don't have that in any other operating system.

Old, slow, crappy, but reliable. I have two other workstations, one is a Zotac Zbox or something like that, an Atom-based "net-top" with a hard-drive, but flash-based backup, and the other workstation is a Raspberry Pi.

So, I believe all you have to do is ask an "intelligent design" person why God is creating Drug-resistant Virii, or creating bacteria that doesn't die when you hit it with lysol.

Just ask anyone who works in a hospital. Hospitals are LOSING a battle against infections, because the bugs are getting smarter and tougher versus our ability to kill them.

So; why is God doing that? He's going out of his way to do that, since obviously, it would be heresy to suggest that the bacteria is evolving, right??

It's a great idea, but too bad that the USA is a third-world country as far as broadband is concerned. Every Asian country has bigger pipes than us. But we're the ones being hacked by the Chinese.... go figure.

If you're a person and you download a song, the FBI breaks down your door, confiscates your computer, and the prosecutor will haunt you until you commit suicide because he's talking millions in fines and decades of prison.....

But the NSA can cause $35 Billion in damage making copies of everyone's data (including songs); and not a peep from anyone.

You'd think a company hard-hit, yet with deep pockets (Oracle?); and an ego-manical CEO, would bring a lawsuit against the NSA for the damages.

But no. Apparently when you're the 800-pound gorilla, you can basically ignore the rule of law. The NSA could be shooting citizens in the head live on national TV and nobody would do anything.

With their billions of petabytes of data, they still didn't see this coming or actually know who did it. The FBI treats identity theft as a LOW PRIORITY crime, they usually advise you to get credit monitoring and then they do zero to catch the criminals.

Mark my words: Nothing will be done. BAU. Our government's policy is "you are on your own", unless you were attached by a muslim terrorist, in which case, they will spend trillions on security theater.
 

Yet, they spend millions in advertising telling us why we should love them. Hey, Cable Companies, here's an idea. Instead of spending the millions/billions you'd spend on TV commericials, use that money instead to hire REAL LIVE HUMANS WHO SPEAK ENGLISH to answer the phone, and actually provide CUSTOMER SERVICE.

It's one thing to pay the highest rates in the world for TV and internet service, but it's another to know that I'm paying so much, and you're simply pocketing the money while your call center is in India and it takes 30 to 45 minutes to get an "agent" on the phone!

So now the flash Ads will be centered on the webpage, and the story you're trying to read will be a sidebar. Not that that's not already happening. Every damn news website is now nothing but a crapfest with a paragraph of story.

The Iraq war was all politics too. Dubya didn't like Saddam Hussein, so, we invaded a soverign nation, killed hundreds of thousands and blew trillions of dollars, while also creating an entire generation of kids who are amputees.

You don't live in a open, free society. Get used to it, this is only going to get worse, because the government is corrupt and has been for some time.

Politicians should not be prosecuted for LYING. After all, it's their primary function. They can't help it. It's like trying to prosecute an ordinary citizen for drawing breath. What would be unusual is a politician telling the truth.
