FKA (Russia) is the most experienced, and best at putting people people safely into LEO.

If not for the Nedelin disaster (1960) Russia had a better than good chance of beating the U.S. to the Moon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

The disaster took out the core of it's space tech, the best they could hope for was to bring a robotically acquired Moon sample back before Apollo 11 did. Which was the race as they were both in space at the same time.

You may find yourself in violation of a Microsoft patent.

"Methods and devices for creating and transferring custom emoticons allow a user to adopt an arbitrary image as an emoticon, which can then be represented by a character sequence in real-time communication. In one implementation, custom emoticons can be included in a message and transmitted to a receiver in the message. In another implementation, character sequences representing the custom emoticons can be transmitted in the message instead of the custom emoticons in order to preserve performance of text messaging. At the receiving end, the character sequences are replaced by their corresponding custom emoticons, which can be retrieved locally if they have been previously received, or can be retrieved from the sender in a separate communication from the text message if they have not been previously received."

Submission + - Digg cofounder Jay Adelson on Reddit's meltdown (fastcompany.com) 1

harrymcc writes: As Reddit has experienced a revolt of its community in recent weeks, many pundits have referenced Digg--the once-mighty social news site which predated Reddit and suffered its own member rebellion. But Digg's cofounder and former CEO, Jay Adelson, told Fast Company's Jared Newman that the two situations aren't as similar as they may appear.

Which for Google is a stretch as there are sub ToS's, But with Samsung it's very clear they record and own everything you do. If the author wishes to take this up with Samsung, the Provence in South Korea is clearly given for such undertakings.

I have a Galaxy S5 and am aware of this and still use it, yet I've never used the smart features of my Samsung monitor (but not a problem as it's just a monitor).

But do you dislike it enough to pony up for business/first class tickets?

That is not the only alternative design. This above/below pod design fits in more seats while actually increasing personal space. Even economy seats would fully recline.

While that would work for the facing backwards part, the aisle between 2 and 3 defeat the spacing or packing requirement.

Not solar output falling 60%, which would lead to completely frozen Earth, but solar activity, i.e. the 11 year sunspot cycle. Predicting levels near or at those found during the Maunder minimum. This does imply some reduced level of solar output.

About plus or minus 0.1% change in total solar irradiance between solar maximum and solar minimum:

It's not just the solar cycle but two cycles matching each other, the solar cycle and the flipping of the It's magnetic poles. Not about to claim what the Suns output would/will be.

The cynic in me wonders whether that was calculated marketing sleaze as opposed to laziness, maybe they're targeting people who try searching for Game of Thrones. The various app stores all have auto-suggest, so you start typing in "game of" and get other suggestions including Game of War.

Or Game(s)

(my Windows introduction)
Installed Win95, opened Internet Explorer and went to Microsoft.com searching for games.

Just saying there's a large population that would search for just the word GAME(S). This is the first time I've heard of "Game of War", I thought it a game. I use a large HOSTS file and have no need of an AD blocker. I also have never had a need to use the "disable ADs" option on /. . The resources saved by using a HOSTS file over a program is substantial.

Submission + - Solar activity predicted to fall 60% in 2030s

sycodon writes: A new model of the Sun's solar cycle is producing unprecedentedly accurate predictions of irregularities within the Sun's 11-year heartbeat. The model draws on dynamo effects in two layers of the Sun, one close to the surface and one deep within its convection zone. Predictions from the model suggest that solar activity will fall by 60 per cent during the 2030s to conditions last seen during the 'mini ice age' that began in 1645.
