This is the same factory, molds, parts and people making this keyboard since Lexmark did the original one for IBM. There is good reason to call it the same keyboard.

Google gives us great products and services, and minds the privacy that we actually care about. With the data they aggregate they provide services that would be possible in no other way. Google is just not creepy. You know what is creepy? The marketing company trying at great expense to sell us the idea that Google is creepy. That is creepy. Who are they?

I would expect that 50 years of one-party rule would show progress. No, clearly it is getting worse every day. So how many decades before you think it will get better? Maybe another 50 will do it? If what we're doing isn't working, just try more of it?

Slashdot, why is this modded insightful? Really-- why? HOUSTON is notable for having no zoning laws. Apparently, the town of West doesn't either, because it appears to be the town with the exploding fertilizer plant that alen is referring to. Zoning is not generally the duty of the state, but of the local governments. Do you really want the state telling you how your town must be laid out? Why do you, as a citizen, want some bureaucrats far away making blind decisions instead of being able to go to a town meeting and actually influence the decisions?

LJIIs probably smell like that because their corona wires are quite exposed to dust. Have to love being able to open the unit like a clamshell and see most of the guts right there.

My Realistic (Radio Shack) clock radio, with battery backup, vinyl "wood" and aluminum trim, has been working for 30 years. I carried it with me back and forth to college and through multiple moves. It works perfectly and only has a small crack on the plastic covering the radio dial to show for it.

It is never a bad idea to have contingency plans for likely scenarios. Things change.

ICU is medical reason. A heterosexual can't visit with children there half the time, and if you fail to fill out the correct HIPPA form, the hospital can't even acknowledge that you exist at all.

The perfect keyboard. They still make 'em, too, but sadly not in a Bluetooth version.

When I step on my scale, it tells me if I need to carry an umbrella today (based on the weather forecast it downloaded). Then it sends my weight etc. to my iPhone where it's merged with information from my fitness wristband and my diet tracker. Based on that, I get suggestions like "you've been going to bed a little later than usual. You should catch up." or "drink more water today" or "try to walk this much further than you did yesterday".

I think that's not so shabby.

It seems to be working out for Samsung so far. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
