Currently, mouse and keyboard control lies strictly in the realm of PCs.
Because I feel like it, both PS2 and PS3 supported mouse + keyboard play for Final Fantasy 11 (essentially the same UI as PC), and PS3 supports it for FF14, though PC gets the better UI this time 'round.
Also, I really really want to say there were a few shooting-intensive action titles on both systems that supported it as well.
[SNIP] let's not forget that the stearing wheel will automatically lock, if power goes out [/SNIP]
Your car may lock its steering wheel when power is cut, but no car I've driven in a quarter-century does. I've had many occasions to key the motor off at speed (isolating engine and transmission when diagnosing problems) and steering continues working, though unassisted.
So long as the key is in the ACC or ON positions the wheel lock should not engage. Also, if you're in a manual or are quick enough with an automatic (and don't go to neutral first), putting the key back to ON will re-fire the engine.
Being a pro does not make you immune to making mistakes.
Interestingly, though not a pro, I turn off my traction control when it's wet PRECISELY because of my mistake-making ability. I told my kids I do it to keep me honest. Meaning, I have to pay attention to what I'm doing with the throttle in wet conditions to avoid wheelspin (especially around corners) rather than rely blindly on the TSC system.
My logic is that building the reflexes into muscle memory (as I did with my older, non-ABS'ed car) will serve me well in cases I'm behind the wheel of a car without driver aids. It also helps me understand what the limits are (of my reflexes and the electronic aids) so I can adjust my speed according to conditions.
Life is a healthy respect for mother nature laced with greed.
