This is why I stopped surfing with sound on, years ago.
I only turn on my sound if I have something specific I want to listen to - then turn it right back off. Moving & pop-up ads cause me to close that tab on my browser, and not visit that site again.
Treat kids, dogs, and web sites the same way - do not reward bad behavior.
I thought this was all an idealistic dream of some space nerds.

And as for not having a computer on board - that probably greatly increases the odds of it working after all these years. Space is harsh on electronics...

This country is so big that mass transit will never cover more than a small fraction of the nation. Commuting is a boring chore, and many folks like myself welcome the day when we can do what we want to be doing rather than driving.

Seriously, if someone wants to work crazy hours, why not let them?
I had that phase in my career, and it paid off. I'm in a different phase now. I just choose not to work after hours. If my employer didn't like that, I'd have found a better job by now. Same thing for travel - I used to travel a ton. Now I don't want to, and so I found a place to work with no travel. I'm a grownup, I can take care of myself, thank-you-very-much.
In other words, there's too many governemnt regulations to have new competition, therefore the solution is to add more government regulations.
Perhaps, just perhaps, the solution is to allow very small startups the ability to compete in individual buildings and small cities.
This technology crops up every few years, but never catches on.
