Comment Hallucinogens (Score 1) 299

I can credit DARE as the number one reason I took LSD for the first time. I wasn't really aware of hallucinogens prior to DARE and the whole "Just Say No" campaign. I found the idea of having a dream-like state while awake to be fascinating. It seemed like magic, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on some LSD or shrooms. It took me a few years (until my freshman year of high school), but I took acid as early as I was able to find it. I must say, DARE didn't disappoint at all!

Sure, you can write open source software with Visual Studio, but you can also write open source software with Xcode on a Mac.

The OP complained about closed source and immediately mentions Visual Studio. Good luck getting the source code for Visual Studio or Windows. A successful open source troll would deride Visual Studio and Windows for the very same reason they criticize the Mac.

My post was in reply to, "the mac pro is bad as they can get a systems from dell , hp and others for about $1000-$1500 less with more ram and better base video card." If you actually go to Dell's site and try to build a an eight-core Xeon machine with all of the same specs as the Mac Pro you'll only save a couple hundred dollars. An eight-core HP costs several hundred more than the Apple. Go try it for yourself.

I'll bite, you troll. A Dell eight 2.26GHz, 6GB of RAM, a 512MB video card, and a 500GB hard drive is $3,157. That's $142 less than a Mac Pro with the same specs (though the Mac has a hard drive with 140GB more space). $142 less - for a Dell. Try to build an eight-core HP for less than $4,000. Good luck!
