Comment sound idea? (Score 1) 299

I think the idea sound but it might be too expensive and not cost effective. Let's say that saves $50 a month in electricity bill (that is very optimistic). $13K / $50 = 260 months = 21 years. Let's say tax payers chips in to offset 50% of the cost. It is still 10 years to break even, not to mention installation cost and the battery may not last 10 years. If it is priced at $2K, that is a different story.

Pictures ad or text ad on website usually host on different servers than the content provider. If I use my old fashion telnet to get the content, I would have to make an extra effort to download these ads. What I am saying is one would argue ads are not part of the "content" from the content provider.

Of course I know that Canada is a very water-rich country. The "water" might not in the form of liquid though for ease of transportation.

I don't think you got my sarcasm -- let's say the water pipe is built and the drought problem in California is gone, the "water" pipe could be converted to oil pipe without much hassle especially. That explains why the water pipe is going to cost $30B -- it needs to withstand anything we throw at it in case it leaks. Water leakage is likely not a problem, oil spill is.

I hate to blow the bubbles, if you go to any branch office of multinationals around the world, you will find the majority of people at the top there are from the origin countries. One would argue that it is only limited to the people at the top, i am sure there is some sort of discrimination taking place but at a lower scale comparing to Tata.

Yes, we need unions to stand up for the union officials and to justify their existence. Don't believe me ... from where I'm from, union is so powerful that they could dictate the outcome of elections. That's how they justify their existence -- have pet politicians who listen to them if they want to get elected.

I really hope no one believe what the article says. The government wants all of us to believe that we're safe and secured by the overreaching NSA. All USA government needs is to ask apple (or any companies) to disclose their encryption scheme. It is far cheaper and more effective than trying to hack or crack anything, don't you think?

Comment public folders (Score 1) 175

I have used built-in and other mail clients on android. For the most part they are OK for emails. Contacts / Calendar works relatively well though I much prefer my personal contacts are totally separated from my work contacts. However, when comes to public folders, which my company makes use of, would be a god send if outlook client on android supports it.
