In most, if not all states, you agree to surrender to breath testing at the discretion of law enforcement as part of getting your license. Courts tend to interpret the power a little more narrowly than cops would like, but if they have even the slightest reasonable suspicion, you're not going to get anywhere.

An on-the-spot judge is new, though, and is going to be problematic. We take separation of powers pretty seriously here. A judge is not a police officer, and shouldn't be acting like one. The commingling is going totrigger a massive legal fight.

He's talking about 500 kwh per WEEK, not month, and saying it can go much higher, meaning his average monthly usage would be well over 2000kwh, and he's saying he can't understand how someone could use less than 500kwh in a month. Objectively, his usage is ridiculous, and there appear to be no mitigating factors.

You've got a lot to learn about electricity usage.

Your computer and space heater do _not_ use 2500 watts 24/7.

A typical space heater uses 600, 900, or 1500 watts, and doesn't run all the time (you hear that periodic clicking? that's the heater turning on and off as it reaches whatever you set its crappy thermostat to).

A typical computer at idle uses a couple hundred watts. Under full gaming load, it _may_ reach 800 _if_ you have a ridiculously powerful rig and are playing the latest games at full settings.

Your refrigerator does not run 24/7. Its compressor kicks in as needed to maintain an acceptable temperature range. While running, it eats a few hundred watts.

Your router and cable box eat only a couple dozen watts at most. Your television perhaps 200 watts, and only when it's on.

Your air conditioner's fan may be on at all times, but its compressor is not, and the compressor is what eats most of the power.

Do not confuse something being plugged in or having a lit LED or making noise with it using its full, rated power. In particular, do _not_ confuse having something like a 1000-watt power supply in your computer with "my computer uses 1000 watts". It doesn't.

WTF dude? Get your appliances checked, _now_. Fridge, furnace, washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove, oven, water heater, everything. Or see if another house is tapped into your feed.

500kwh/week is bloody insane. It's over 71kwh/day, or the equivalent of running 1.65 typical US household circuits (120volt, 15amp) full-bore, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Nobody does that.

I've lived in all-electric houses. Several of them. With multiple people. None used anything close to 71kwh/day.

Why are you speculating on something you are clearly completely ignorant of? Federal judges do not have reelection campaigns. They do not have election campaigns. They are nominated by the President of the United States and confirmed by the Senate exactly once, after which they are in until they die, resign voluntarily, or are impeached and removed from office (the latter being incredibly rare, in over 200 years 14 judges have been impeached, and only about half were removed from office).

WTF? He's talking about USB. As in physical interconnection between the phone and the PC. If someone has tapped into a USB link, they already have the physical access necessary to get at your data regardless.

By your absurd logic, the USB mass-storage protocols should be encrypted because you might transfer personal information to/from a USB disk.

What we know today as GTK (actually GTK+) has little resemblance to what was originally written for GIMP, and never would have become anything remotely like what it is except the FSF decided they just _had_ to do something about Qt once KDE became popular. It's a "growth" of the GIMP toolkit in much the same way as a brain tumor is a "growth" of your own cells.

Pretty much the same in the US. Antenna placement is governed by the FCC, and any local or state laws and regulations that have a significant impact on the ability of anyone to put up an otherwise-legal antenna are void.
