I personally had believed that phones crashing was just a joke because my Blackberry literally never crashed or needed rebooting.
Now we know you're a plant, I've had quite a few blackberries since the mid 2000s. Every single one of them have crashed to the extent where I had to remove the batteries.
Right. All the various slightly incompatible bullshit in the PC world is so wonderful. All those beautiful blue screens caused by the shitty up drivers - simply wonderful.
It obviously helped make Microsoft a lot of money, and I've read about how the one guy managed to make that one thing work, that made this possible.
But Windows is full of crap, and full of "If you can't make it work right, make it look good - Bill Gates" that it basically caused IT to be shit. This is the start of the 3 Rs of Windows. Retry, Reboot and Reinstall.
That is a fucked up legacy to leave behind.
Bad news: formatting your hard drive or reinstalling your OS (any consumer OS) doesn't, by default, actually erase your data either.
Why are we surprised?
But we do have options. The fact that people are willing to store so much personal data on their smartphones is just showing us how dumb they are. Why would they not think a factory reset wouldn't wipe their data. If the thought even crossed their mind.
Probably because of the pop up that says all your information will be wiped?
You are unaware that a lot of cheapo phones, currently on the market, especially those for 3rd world countries, run 2.3?
Apparently you are unable to grasp the concept of "they've given up".
And what do you call a person who continues to support this business model?
What's the definition for abuse? Keep coming back because the next time, it'll be better, I promise!
People use it for lower-grade hardware that they are still manufacturing today. Go buy a $39 "unlocked" phone at your local Fry's (search for a brand like Blu). What will it be running? Android 2.3. Which is wonderful.
That is one end of the scale, yes it is good that you can get a cheap device running an old OS but you have to remember this is unsupported and quite insecure. If you're ok with that then that's fine but again, that's only one end of the scale.
How would any user buying it know? Does it say "beware, running unsupported 5 year old phone OS, buy at your own risk" ?? Does it not have warranty? If it has warranty, is it not supported?
Every time, I was told this wasn't a problem...?
Did you not see the recent scandal about the FBI forensic lab techs who lied on the stand? One guy's hair was matched to a fucking dog.
Seriously? At this point in time, you are going against all current peer reviewed science on this? You aren't a skeptic. You're a denier. And/or paid shills and/or liars.
Yeah, we are having issues with Cisco APs as well. Pretty sad.
And what's the legal age of consent for a corporation? Have you ever seen a corporation get arrested, go to jail or be given the death penalty?
Anyone can make an omelet with eggs. The trick is to make one with none.
