Not sure about that. BlackBerry QNX-based OS is really good. It's not like they don't have a great product, the problem is that the product came late and it was pricey. In any case, it's good to have a variety out there.

I have cable internet with Distributel (over Rogers network) and last year I had an outage that lasted around 2 weeks. It was exactly like that. Rogers didn't give a crap about fixing the problem. They do this on purpose, which actually makes me hate them even more. Same with Bell Canada. I hate these companies. They received government subsidies from our sweet tax dollars to build their infrastructure. Now they are simply robbing Canadians with their high service fees and crappy service. As long as I have the choice I will never give them money.

Seriously, this has been one of the main problems with the security in the government. Some high ranking officer visits another country, and before you know it some prostitute has all of the military secrets this guy is aware of.

Smart or not 300$ is expensive. Considering that Google is selling Nexus 4 phone for 200$ I'm not gonna buy this thing. Yeah, the battery life is like 10hrs or so. Bluetooth drains the battery fairly quickly so you'll end up charging this thing fairly often. No thanks.

Why is he a douche? Because he's successful and he actually got there by not screwing over millions of people? You can say anything about PayPal but it's a service you can choose not to use. I wish he found a time to do this thing. Safe and fast travel, and I think cheaper too. It would be a great competition for aviation industry. In any case, nothing but respect for this guy.

To be honest I like what Google has done in the last 15 years: 1. Google search: there were search engines before Google, but how caching and indexing works, and relevance of the results is pretty amazing to me 2. Maps: there were other map products but Google has done a great job to make maps more responsive and easier to use 3. Email: remember when hotmail was giving you about 10 MB of space, and then Google gave you 1 GB This is just to mention a few. I am aware that Google might be the next big threat to everyone's privacy but the technology they came up with is just incredible.

The only issue I have is that this kid, probably non-violent dumb-ass, will come out of prison where he will experience many bad things, and probably learn many many bad things. When he comes out he probably won't be as non-violent any more.

These people are devoting their own time to create something others can benefit from, and they are not asking for anything. This is possibly the only recognition they get. On the other hand, we have people like you, who are so lazy they can't even create an account on the forum they use. Genuflect? Nice. In any case, not sure how good is this software but if some people like it they will donate. We obviously won't. Who knows, maybe given the resources, this might actually become something decent to use. And it will be free. So nothing wrong with that. I won't be using it for sure, but I'm not opposing its existence.

If we can learn something from the history is that any openness won't work well in China. On the positive side we may see a number of drivers for peripheral devices being developed for Ubuntu. In any case, I wish them good luck.
