Comment SugarCRM or X2Engine (Score 1) 141

You could use any of those two CRM's, with SugarCRM being more mature than X2Engine, as well as having a pretty good development studio built into the CRM. This allows you to create custom modules, with custom fields & forms. That's what you might use to manage equipment inventories for example.

You can also use hooks in the code, to call various API's to provision services. For example if a customer is assigned a new product, you can hook that event to make something happen in the real world.

If you don't have anyone skilled enough to do this, you can hire a developer to implement that for you. The advantage with this approach is that for very little money you will get a custom tailored solution. It will be so cheap that even if you throw the system away after 2 years, it's still worth it.

And as an aside, I can hook you up with such a team if you can't find one of your own :-)

Comment Anonymous attacks Alien Base Website (Score 1) 560

On Thursday, Anonymous reported that it took down close to 300 sites of diplomatic representatives from neighboring galaxies, although the single website that they presented as having been attacked belonged to the famous Roger Wilco Janitorial services company. The report came after Zork Boga Bulubulu of planet Zerga 5 announced earlier in the week that his website had been taken down by a group calling itself TeaM L33t HyPn0 H4ck3rZ. Bulubulu's website had been hosting an online petition to stop alien abductions, and to impose a ban on anal probing.

Well, I personally didn't hear about it until the riots started and it suddenly became news. Now I've seen it, and I believe that chances are, if they just kept their mouths shut, nobody would have noticed the (extremely) poorly produced video.

The reason they hate it so much, is that deep inside, they feel the same way; that their own religion is inadequate and ridiculous and based on the ramblings of a false prophet. But it's so popular now in Arab countries, they really can't do anything about it without looking even more ridiculous. The difficult part is admitting that the religion you and your parents and grandparents grew up believing in, is absolute crap.

Muslims are spiritual people, which is great - they just need to understand that Islam is not the only way. Maybe they should consider the Bahai faith - it at least preaches true peace and harmony between humans of all faiths and paths in life.

I actually do happen to have a clue, Anonymous Coward.

And as I suspected might happen following GoDaddy's cowardly (and patently false) statement, today the "hacker" (who obviously also has no clue?) released some more data he obtained during his attack, to prove that it wasn't a GoDaddy "Glitch". I suspect with their level of incompetence, he probably still has access!

Exactly, and thankfully the gTLDs are not controlled by these people. Funny how they are ok with .xxx but .gay is totally wrong!?

Here's the thing tough: This is hitting a nerve with them because they know they have a large gay population that they can't uncover and can't do anything about.

I don't hold much hope fot the Saudis to see the light and butt out (pun not intended) of people's individual choices.
