I say we bring back beatings.

We currently take petty criminals in poor neighborhoods, put them in jail for 60 days, they get out, 2 months behind on rent, fired from their job for not coming to work for 8 weeks, incapable of feeding their kids, and they wind up homeless. Now what? Best course of action is to become a drug dealer.

The major studios found an easy way to get investment via duping average joes. By using KLickstarter, they don't have to ever pay a return , as the previous comenter pointed out - I quote- "Backers that provide fund for the production of the film expect to receive a share of the return on the investment in the form of a share of the earnings of the film" THey likely had no intention of ever keeping their promise to supply that copy of the film either.. I mean , what are us "plebes" goinna do, anyways.. threaten to not watch the movie? I would suggest NEVER NEVER contribute to a Kickstarter campaign of a company that also has "big money" investors.. OK , I'm not a diehard gamer at all , in fact it starts and ends at pinball.. so perhaps it's not surprising I missed a recent development over that last decade.. Buit "Naturally, the PC version outperforms"?. Last that I paid any attention, it was "naturally" a dedicated unit like a console would outperform a PC. So what happened? Did PCs really get that much better, and I somehow am missing it, even though I still am paying attention to that side of things, or do consoles suddenly suck, from, I would assume, no development? Which is it? Have I somehow not noticed PC hardware getting *that* much better, right under my nose?

Well, a lot of people like Putin.. He is a great proponent of the Church and legislating "moral behavior" (Betcha the tea party and or "moral" majorty would have him over for tea in a heartbeat), and in fact has a legitimate reason for his actions currently in Crimea.. .But after "tea" with the "tea party" they'd turmn around and decry his Soviet style leadership style. Because, at the end of the day, he is "Diktatura".. and a proud KGB agent. He has had no qualms about jailing anyone who disagrees with him , or steps outside his line. If you saw his acceptance speech after the last election, an election which , if it had been able to be propoerly monitored, might have gone differently, he walked up tothe podium followed by even more agents than an americvan presidentm, and immediately said something like .."Russia after fair free honest elections have freely and of their own accord willingly voted in a publik election, for a demokratic government" ;-) He looked like a Soviet style leader when saying it though... I like Putin. But then I liked Kruschev.. who was a reformer until the politburo got to him. And this time it's the reverse. Before he's done, Russia will be a Kommunista diktatúra again, just with a different name..

Interesting. I don't always want to be messing with my DNS setting every time I get a 404 not found.

What is needed is a quick way to temporarily try using a different DNS, to see whether that's the problem.

I don't get it.. do you even care what's the problem as long as it works? Shouldn't your dns automatically resolve via any alternate DNS servers you've listed? Like google DNS and open DNS?.. I assume you've set those as alternates

Thats good for people who know how to change it, let alone know what DNS is. 99% of the population doesn't which means this does have ramifications for accessibility of a site. Though admittedly, it appears to be a decently small problem.

I can attest to the accuracy of this comment, after having spent half an hour on the phone trying to explain where to find the "Desktop"

"your'e looking straight at it"

"I don't see it"

"It's what you see on your monitor"

"what's a moneytour?"

I woulddn't relish the thought of having to explain how to change DNS settings!

Are you talking about California? Drought doesn't hit poor people any harder than rich in California. Other areas, especially where subsistence farming is practiced, yes.

Absolutely and unequivocally UNTRUE. Drought hurts the poor FAR worse. It hads to do with the percentager of income devoted to food. The wealthy spend less than 5 % of their annual income on food. Price increases due to drought, and the need to buy water instead, have barely any impact. The poor, on the other hand, generally spend 50% of their income on food, and that entails very careful shopping, as they would spenfd more but rent has likely taken up the other half. ANY price increase is devastating...
