If you asked them not to change the definition because "broadband" technically refers to how data is transferred (10gbit ethernet is not broadband, despite the speed, it is baseband) then ok, you can be cpt pedantic.

However this is just you lying. 4mbps is not "enough" for the modern Internet. Currently I find the breakpoint to be about 20mbps. That is the point after which normal users won't notice much, if any, improvement. As such, that is my baseline for recommendation to people. 10mbps is serviceable I guess, but is a pain for video streaming. 4mbps would be a real issue, even low bandwidth streams wouldn't work well.

The minimum needs to keep rising. We keep finding more to do with our net connections. These companies are just whiny because they don't want to have to roll out FTTH, they want to keep doing DSL and pretending like that works.

TFS mentions high quality video. You're not streaming high quality video with 10 or even 20Mbps.

Slashdot is part of a big conglomerate these days. They're publicly traded which means their every thought must be about how to make more money for the shareholders. There's no need to feel guilty about blocking ads here. Do it, and be proud.

Stop throwing the constitution in our faces, it's just a goddamned piece of paper.

Never mind that you can't see the difference unless you're extremely nearsighted and don't have your glasses on.

The first time when I saw the wheels I was wondering why the hell they spend so much money to send up a robot to Mars and then equip that thing with such flimsy wheels

And I did post question here on /, and there were people (NASA fanbois, perhaps) defending those flimsy wheels

Obviously the engineers designing the wheels had just come off a Livin' The Low Life marathon and felt inspired.

Derp,

Probably because if there is no community following it there is not going to be much in the way of development going on.

Oh no they don't destroy everything. They have tax records going back for a decade or more from both what you, your employer, and financial institutions reported and trust me they can pull these records out of the hat when it suits their purpose. (Such as when they decide to audit you.)
