If I recall correctly, heat is nothing more than the vibration (kinetic energy) of particles. A vibration is essentially a wave and the shortest wavelength corresponds to one of the planck limits. That means there is a maximum amount of heat that a particle can have. That also means there is a maximum frequency for electromagnetic waves.

I have not seen the actual calculations and I do not have the requisite knowledge to perform them myself. If I looked carefully, I am sure I could come within an order of magnitude without actually doing any math: For example, we know that terahertz frequencies can be achieved because we use them. What is the wavelength of a terahertz wave and what is the planck length?

I did not see what he was asking for as trolling. If you were a scientist (you might be, but that would make this question even more relevant) wouldn't you want the data that the sensors had shown?

Obviously, that alone is not enough. For example, let's say that there was a model of thermometer that was known to be flawed. As a scientist, you would want to know this... but then, you would still want the raw data and then apply such transforms yourself.

In short, I do not think the parent poster was trolling or trying to cause controversy. In fact, I suspect that the reaction to his request shows the effectiveness of the actual trolls. You assume he is trolling.

People are NOT willing to help this guy see/discern reality for himself. All of you are arguing that he should only work with pre-massaged data sets. WTF? Really? Don't make me start believing in conspiracies by having such absurd reactions to reasonable requests.

If you do not want to walk around with a loaded firearm, nobody is forcing you. Oh, you want to stop other people from walking around with loaded firearms? Now you have a problem because you do not get to choose what other people can or can not do.

What are the people of Iraq crying for right now? Personally owned weapons... so they can fight off the Da'esh (IS/ISIL/ISIS) menace. It is a good thing that as soon as Iraq had a functioning government that they confiscated all of the personally owned weapons for the safety of the people.

Oh right. Nothing like that would ever happen in the United States of America so there is no point in owning weapons there. Our government has only our best interests at heart and would never shoot 17 innocent people on a college campus such as Kent State. Or police officers would never shoot innocent men. Or, law abiding citizens would never need to protect themselves against someone who does not care for law and order. (CAPTCHA is villainy)

Look, I am cool with you believing whatever you want to believe and practicing it. Do not carry a gun if you do not feel the need for it or do not trust yourself to control yourself with one.

But don't try to tell me what to do.

If it makes you feel any better, I do not own any weapons.

I think I see the problem here... They see themselves as elevated leaders. No wonder their perspective is skewed.

I used to almost literally preach the benefits of using Firefox and converted many users and two very large organizations and I felt insulted by the portion of the commented bolded above.

Their attitude is terrible and will end up killing Firefox off entirely. They are coasting on pure momentum right now and I imagine they will be shocked when they sink. "Why would that happen? We were doing so much wonderful stuff for our people."

Yeah. Ok. Fuck off Mozilla. You just don't get it.

Why would you assume that there is anything inside of a black hole? Because of the extreme gravity? If the speed of gravity is equal to the speed of light, then nothing inside of the black hole is causing the gravity to exist... which means that the gravity felt outside of the black hole has nothing to do with anything inside of the black hole as the gravity can not propagate fast enough to escape; therefore, there is not evidence that anything even exists inside of the black hole.

I could go on and on, but yes, you would. All it takes to run a business is an understanding of business processes. There is no need at all to actually know anything about what the business does. Look at Apple. They had the CEO of PepsiCo running the business and look at them now. Steve Jobs was just a slick salesman is all. He was just riding on the well organized business that the previous MBA had set up for him.

At one IT company I worked for, labor costs grew anywhere between 6 and 10% per year ...

How can that be when raises are not coming in at 6 and 10% per year? Where is all that money going if it is not going into the workers pockets?

Furthermore, money is losing value at roughly 4% per year... that means someone who is only getting a 6% raise is barely keeping up with inflation.

Where is the value going?

I would argue that you are doing it wrong. The point of view should be: I do not care about anything other than correct input.

There are an infinite number of things that could be wrong. Why worry about them? Worry about what you are trying to do and ignore or discard the rest.
