I wonder if this is one of those schools that gives its students laptops? There are schools in the area who have a wireless access point in almost every classroom. I had a friend who would bring his own laptop in, knock out the access point (not entirely sure how), and just man in the middle everyone in the room when they tried to reconnect to the router. Bam, every single kids password, including any teachers/administrator who also tried to reconnect. He got kicked out of the first school for changing grades (A to F will do that). But at the second school he never got caught, just change. Technology is great, but these schools don't do a very good job teaching their students how to use it safely.

Being raised Catholic by French/Irish parents, and attending a private Catholic school for years, I like to think I have a pretty good handle on their current beliefs, and I can assure you Mary is not worshiped as a Goddess. Important yes, but she is not considered more powerful then any other Saint. Also I firmly believe the Catholic Church's rise was a response to vacuum left by the collapse of the Roman Empire. It simply evolved as a power structure in that time period. It was run by politicians, men who craved power. They corrupted much of it, with many issues persisting to this day. I honestly believe the members of it that have committed crimes should be punished under the laws of the area they live in. So while I agree with your opinion of violent abuses, I must disagree strongly with your implied causation, when it is simply a case of correlation.

Seller of Counterfeit Video Games Gets 30 Months 165

wiredmikey writes "The FBI reported this week that Qiang 'Michael' Bi, of Powell, Ohio was sentenced to 30 months in prison for selling more than 35,000 illegally copied computer games over the Internet between 2005 and 2009. According to a statement of facts read during Bi's plea hearing, agents executed a search warrant at Bi's house and found multiple CD duplicators and more than 1,000 printed counterfeit CDs. Some of the CDs were still in the duplicator. During their investigation, agents learned that Bi would buy a single copy of a game, illegally duplicate it and sell the copies on eBay.com and Amazon.com. He also set up a website for customers to download the games they bought. Bi accepted payment through eBay and PayPal accounts in his name and in others' names."
