It's a propaganda film. And yes, the event in it where happening in different places for decades.

I was in the Military when it came out and we were Ooh Ra over it. But after I got out and watched it again it's pretty appalling.

You give it far too much credit.

". My friends and I were into the cold war"
I have no idea what you are trying to say. It's like you know nothing of it.
Everyone is into the cold war. Not always by choice.

I think seeing a parent in a bad situation and helping , if needed., is just being civilized. Like helping someone change their tire.

Really, usual helping means making a face at the child, talking at the child, or possible holding a door open.
By helping out, he isn't saying care for the child.

Sometime, shit happens even to responsible parents.

correct. well, until the child is old enough to behave or stay home on there own.
Guess what? I wen t from seeing a couple of movie with my wife every week for about 8 years, to NOT going to a movie for 4 years. Why? I'm cautious to other movie goers.
Family where smaller 30 years ago, without the GP living at home, but people rarely brought a baby to a movie, and if it acted up, they left.

Movies, concerts, theater. These are place that require quite for everyone to enjoy.
Take you kids to most restaurant? fine. I have n problem, and if you child acts up, you do have my sympathy. And aid if needed.
Take you kid to a 100 dollar a plate romantic restaurant? yeah, I have a problem with that if they cry.

Just to be very clear. -- There Is No Backlash Against Babies.
There is a backlash against inconsiderate parents who think they have a right to disturb everyone else movie theater because they decided to have kids. Guess what? Going to a movie isn't a right.

"Single parents are also a lot more common, "
they aren't.

" and the single parent already has someone taking care of the kid during the day"
that's there problem, no one else's.

"They can't magically "leave" the kid behind for everything that they do, "
we know.

"just because other assholes in public find them to be an inconvenience."
if you bring a crying baby to a movie, you are the asshole. Not people who want to enjoy their movie in peace.

Store? park? play area? don't care. If you baby cries you really do have my sympathy. Just stop with this, just because i have a baby doesn't mean I have to change anything I do crap.

" If you don't like it, you can bugger off."
I fit's in a theater or cinema, I'm go to have the management see that YOU bugger off.

Line at a grocery store? I'll make funny faces a the child. That usually gets them to laugh. On an airplane? I don't have a problem, and I expect it. I suggest everyone else expect it to. Travel is miserable for everyone. Hell, sometime I'm jealous. If I cry they throw me off! Sometimes travel is necessary.

No we weren't, that's a myth. Since the british collected no tax from us, it wasn't really unjust. Oh, they wanted to add a tiny tax to tea to pay for getting it here safely.

John Hancock started a smear campaign about the small tax on tea. Why? becasue he was a smuggler and it would have put him out of business because the Tea, with the tax was higher quality and cheaper then his smuggled tea.

Read the letters and papers at the time, and it was two things the where really behind the war.
1) Fear of Catholic, seriously.
2) The founding fathers had carved out some land to the west, and England decided it was useless to them so they where going to sell it to the french. Well, when rich men are about to loose out on money and land, they whip up the masses about taxes the English where collecting. So it's not really taxation without representation when they where bothering to collect. I mean, you could go to the tax man and give him what you owed..but who really does that?

for atheism is completely amoral and without any absolutes.

What?

You may have morals, but they aren't derived from your lack of belief in a god, anymore than mine are defined by my failure to believe in the FSM or pink unicorns. Lack of belief in something doesn't define anything "moral", hence the term "amoral" (no morals)

Well, these words are always defined by humans, and all of them are subject to change (or, more accurately, new definitions will be added in addition to the old ones) over time, regardless of what religious beliefs people have.

Or ... even shorter periods of time, like minutes or even seconds.
