An anonymous reader writes: controverisal pro-piracy website the piratebay likes to portray itself as an innocent hobby site that provides a free index without censorship, but recent facts show that the site is earning up to 20,000 Euros per day from its advertising. Taking in money on this scale puts a different slant on the motives behind the Swedish filesharing site, and could open up the runners of the site to prosecution for profiting from copyright infringement.

morpheus83 writes: "A number of Italian politicians, businessmen, soccer players and coaches, showgirls and actors nailed due to their negligent use of the mobile phone as they have had their personal conversations recorded by official or nubile detectives and then leaked to the press. This has fueled a rush for cellular encryption which works like this — phones on both sides of the voice conversation have a software preloaded which once activated through a personal key code scrambles or encryptes the user's voice. The data is then send through a normal GSM cellphone network, received by the listener's phone and then decrypted back into decipherable language, all of which causes a slight delay."

wild_berry writes: Mark Hammill and George Lucas are working together again, and on Star Wars. Better than that, a Star Wars spoof. The London Times is reporting that the unusually-long 30-minute episode of Robot Chicken for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim grew from discussions about a Star Wars-themed Robot Chicken sketch on StarWars.com. Also, TheForce.net has more details of other cast members, including the unusual combination of Malcolm McDowell, Hulk Hogan and James Van Der Beek. There's no mention of the roles, so we can only hope for The Hulk voicing Greedo, perhaps slain by Malcolm McDowell's replicant Han Solo.

We know it's possible to strap a PSP to your steering wheel, but seriously, it's not like we'd recommend taking such a setup onto the open road. Apparently, designers at Kia are throwing caution to the wind and cramming convenience in your face with its Kue concept vehicle, which neatly sports a full-fledged GPS navigation system in place of an airbag. Yeah, you've got Honda trying to stuff such protective devices into frickin' motorcycles, but who needs driver's side safety when you've got a 100,000-mile warranty? Nevertheless, the whip also manages to sport Lambo-doors, swivel seats, a widescreen in-dash display, and what appears to be flush-mounted pillar controls. Of course, the Kue could end up rocking a half dozen airbags in a variety of other locations, but if you're interested in a few more pics of the quasi-street-legal ride, be sure to click on through.

Sony is once again showing off their beautiful OLED TVs we first peeped at CES. No surprise there, after all, we love to gawk at that incredible 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio just as often as possible. The real news is that Sony is finally ready to move an OLED TV into production. Sorry, not that bad-azz 27-inch model capable of Full HD 1080p. Nope, instead they'll be pushing out the 11-inch pup sometime "within 2007." We're talking 1024 x 600 pixels slathered across that wee 1M:1 contrast panel capable of 8-bit RGB color and covering more than 100% of the NTSC color gamut. Oh, and the display itself measures just 3-mm thick. Hot-freakin'-tastic. Unfortunately, it will likely suffer from a high price tag and short display life. Still, you'll be tempted to, especially after seeing the set's razor-thin display in a profile shot after the break -- yeah, dramatic viewing angles too. Oh, Sony, why must you taunt us.

Sleep-related disorders have plagued Vista since its release, though they were not present in earlier betas. Most of these fixes are due to be included in Windows Vista SP1 — codenamed Fiji."

But , I'm starting to think about what other skills to acquire to progress and remain employable. My question is: is it better to remain a specialist with one or 2 products or is it better to be expand and get a good grasp on other db systems, such as Oracle,postgresql etc?"
