The question is why should truecrypt or anyone else hold a master encryption key to your data. The software should generate a signing key on installation, and that key should be then used for signing. It could then be sent to the provider for them to store in case the original is lost. But truecrypt would not have a master key that automatically unlocks all of their customers data if subpoenaed by the government. Your key will unlock only your data and no one elses.

In that case the publisher doesn't have to sell their books via amazon. There is no requirement under law that they do so. The fact that they want access to Amazon's audience because they still make a profit from it, even if it's less than thy would ordinarily like. says volumes. I am also not locked into buying my books solely from Amazon, yes it's the easiest way, but with programs like Calibre I can buy from any company and load my books to my kindle as I like.

I posted this on facebook... The drawback to this is that it encourages providers to build up their "pay for play" networks while ignoring the massive overselling of their default tier and charging the content providers to ensure that their traffic doesn't get lost or delayed in the shuffle.

A solution for this would be for the Federal Communications Commission and/or the Federal Trade Commission to require Internet access providers to have a specific percentage of their sold bandwidth available on their public network. If you have sold 3 Terabytes per second of data connections, you must have 1.25 Terabytes per second of bandwidth connected to the internet available on your public network.
