Comment Parental content control? Really? (Score 1) 260

If "parental content control" means your kids do not learn about sex, I'm opposed to it. In countries where people are ridiculously puritan (i.e., the US) the number of teen pregnancies is 20 times higher than in countries where people are relaxed about sex and nudity (i.e., the Netherlands). I have always supervised my kids, online and offline, but never installed "parental content control".

Comment Hola (Score 5, Interesting) 353

Hola internet is the most useful plugin. It helps me watch video's from the US, Canada and the UK that are limited to their respective countries. I wonder, I have BBC on my TV, I can rightfully watch any BBC program, but I can't use the service on the bbc web site to watch it a day later. With Hola, I can.

Comment Blocking is counter productive (Score 3, Insightful) 176

Blocking child pornography will mean that the general audience will not be aware of its existence, hence they will not put pressure on politicians to end child abuse. Blocking child porn is counter productive, that's a fact. This I say as one of the founders of www.meldpunt.org and www.inhope.org.

Right when I'm overtaking, my car decides to do an OTA update of it's software. The controls block for about ten seconds, during which time I careen into a truck coming from the opposite side. Will my insurance cover for that?
