But the probem is if these glasses are used by everyone knowing peoples names and birthdays will no longer impress people. And eventually remembering somebodys birthday will be thought of as rude since you are no longer showing an effort.

All jokes aside - who thought it was a good idea to use wifi to control the human equivalent of overclocking? Sure - people can be killed with RF-guns that destroys pacemakers or even with old fashioned guns or poison and in many other ways. But why add another possibility to the mix? Also given all the jokes on this topic (thought I was on reddit for a while) I'd say that Cheney have good reason to belive someone might not like him. But then I am a stupid foreigner and you are possibly making all these jokes to show the man that you love him very much.

I had to login to write this. Many people online have for various reasons difficulties understanding the consequences of things like these. By having risky options "Default is On" and "You can opt out" they will be tricked into allowing Google to use their name and picture in ads. A company claiming to act responsible and "Do no Evil" should not need to do questionable acts like these.

I know some telemarketers exploit this and sell their products to people with mental problems, dementia and what not. We all expect Facebook to con people into writing things they later on make publicly available. But for Google to take a step in the same direction is actually much worse since we are stupid enough to expect them to do no evil and therefore are more easily duped.

They will not. Remember the good old days when computer monitors were taller and narrower? People put toolbars at the top or bottom.
Then someone decided screens should be wide and low. And to get enough space for my work I dragged my toolbars to the left or right edges. Voila! More workspace!
Enter Gnome. Vertical toolbars? You do not want that! We put them back to the top and bottom. But how about an option to continue to use vertical toolbars? No Madam - we know what is best for you!

Well it is not beeing broadcasted in Norway. So whenever it is I will already have read about the most fun or shocking parts on Reddit and other websites. Even the local papers will have had spoilers. So when it finally airs I will not be that interesting anymore. I can't imagine why people pirate it.

Comment We are just pirating a different way (Score 2) 261

As a Norwegian I know that many still watch illegal content even using Netflix, HBO and similar. Because much of the newest content is "not yet available in your region" we use proxies and vpn to fake beeing from the US of A. So we pay for one service and then hack it to get more content than we pay for. Much like you can hack your cable provider to get more channels for free.
