Nothing to see here, move along.
Nothing to see here, move along.
One week of no typing (vacations are good), regular hand/wrist exercises and going back to my Touchstream keyboard from Fingerworks and my hand is back to almost normal. I still get some numbness when I grasp really small objects (toothbrush etc...) and that is kind if annoying, but at least it isn't constant anymore. This has been a wake up call to me.
Ok... now my right arm is getting numb. I'm of the belief that this is the start of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
This, of course, sucks.
Just in case anyone is thinking about moving let me remind you what is involved.

...and all through the office...
Yeah, I'm here at work. Nothing doing.
Here is an update though. I've been using the Fingerworks keyboard now for 100% of my typing and I'm getting quite good. I still make mistakes though and despite the built in mouse I still use a regular mouse for some activities, like those that are primarily mousing activities. But for small things and occasional one stroke mouse moves the keyboard works great!
I also love the four finger shift as well as the left hand arrow key control, way cool!
Anyway, Merry Christmas to all!
I've had my Fingerworks Touchstream LP now for 2 weeks and I'm getting much better touch typing with no feedback and my wrist pain has almost gone away.
It does take some getting used to... though my standard mouse and keyboard are still there if I need them. I am using the touchstream about 50% of the time now, and the gestures become very handy. I find myself trying to use them on other keyboards!
Check them out!

P.S. This entire message was typed on the touchsream, and most of my mistakes involved the letter o becoming i or the letter n becoming an m.
Is it true that only the good die young?
I don't believe so.
But it shocked me to learn today that a good man was taken from this world on Monday. He had just retired to spend time with his family and now it seems that dream will not come true.
Reminds me to value every day that I have.
Rest in peace.
I find that as time goes on I read
Why is this? I don't know.
One reason I suppose is that there is a vast community of people who post to
And yet there are the few who post interesting articles or comments every day that make
So I try to reserve my comments for things that I feel that I can truely contribute to.
I also find that I will write something up to post and then not post it. Because I figure nobody will read it.
Like this journal entry. I mean, who really cares?
Another year is gone away,
another day will end,
another minute will tick on by,
another second around the bend.
Ok, so I'm no poet.
Why is it that time is so tangible at the changes? Does it get bumpier?
Tonight at midnight when we move into 2003 and leave 2002 behind, never to be changed again, I find myself to be pondering.... do we live in time? Or do we mearly exist and time is a convenience?
Are we moving through time and can we change the rate at which we move through time? Or is time totally abstract? Can we, for lack of a better term, overclock our own brains to travel through time more slowly? Or slow down aging by skipping points in time that we don't need?
I'm given to believe that time is a fabrication, a by product of our own brains.
It is as though we are a program with static variables. Most of our memory hangs around but eventually we have to dump some of it to make space for new data. Maybe getting old is just bit rot...
Well, whatever it is, happy new year.
Apparently some people think I am their enemy...

Not quite sure what I would have done to get on their enemy list.
But currently I have more fans than freaks so I don't really care either.
Am I that fascinating that you would really want to know what I might have to write in my journal?
