Regardless of the debate of whether or not either the Iraq/Afghanistan war or the stimulus spending was a good idea, spending money inside the U.S. via the stimulus has an exponentially better effect for the economic health of the country than the foreign wars in Iraq/Afghanistan do.

LOL, this whole conversation is about how the Silicon Valley workers are being paid too much.

I'm a software developer at a San Francisco startup. I guarantee you my company is not importing poor people to work for less or ripping off the system. I don't know every single startup in the city - but I know more than a few, and all of those are not harmful to our society, but indeed the exact opposite.

Forcing other people (including other women) to pay for birth control for other women

Every single tax that you've ever paid will almost always pay for something else that doesn't directly relate to you. And, generally, you are forced to pay tax. For example, all the liberals have to pay for all the conservative's wars, and that's a bagillion times more expensive than birth control.

Yes, the Koran is the exact word of God and there are no translation errors.

However, people still say that the Bible is the word of God regardless of translations.

And interesting note, there's even a "conservative bible": http://conservapedia.com/Conservative_Bible_Project Some of the highlights are "Express Free Market Parables" and "Utilize Terms which better capture original intent: using powerful new conservative terms to capture better the original intent;[9] Defective translations use the word "comrade" three times as often as "volunteer""

... and I HATE it. It's inferior in every way regarding usability as compared to Outlook.

E-mails are more difficult to compose. There's only very basic formatting options. No format paster. In the world of browser tabs, it's very annoying that I now have to find the e-mail tab as opposed to switching between active programs to get my e-mail and calendar.

The calendar is harder to use. It keeps moving the start of the 5 day week to the current day, making it hard to use. (On a more positive note, I like the temperature forecasts built in)

The notifications suck. Suck suck suck. I tried the standard Google Notifier and the messages were left too long in the upper-right hand, blocking important information up there which lasted too long. They aren't customizable. And I've already missed so many meetings because the calendar reminders don't stay on the screen! You have to be actively watching for those reminders to do anything.

I know it's fashionable to hate Microsoft and love Google, but come on. Outlook was a great product, and I was just forced to return to a technology that is 5 or 10 years behind.

If the code had been written correctly in the beginning, we would have saved millions in man-hour-dollars. Millions.

No, you don't need them all the time, but when you are building a foundation, you need it done right.

Wrong. They don't think that. You can imagine that people who run a business have heard of the idea that they can hire anywhere, can't you?

Well, what that is meant to mean is that it's not a church to teach you about how to reach God, Jesus, the afterlife, etc., but it does use spirituality/religion in its function. It is worded funny, I'll give you that.

that any alcohol consumption is automatically bad and the problem drinker (a.k.a. alcoholic) can never drink safely again

For many addicts, that's true. But I agree with you on this, that the converse is not necessarily true. Some problem drinkers may drink safely again. Sorta like how some food addicts CAN eat candy bars if done in moderation - in fact 200 calorie eating candy bars are a good way to keep cravings down so you don't eat 2000 calories.
