Buy them in Asia. A couple of years ago, I bought some Ventolin inhalers in India for the equivalent of $2 each. No prescription required.
Also, be aware that the active ingredients in inhalers run out before the propellant does. Unless you count uses, you may just be getting a lungfull of propellant only.
People are still refusing to vaccinate children because they're afraid of autism even though the author of that study actually confessed having made the whole thing up.
Ummm... no, he didn't. There were a couple of issues with the study, the primary one being that a temporal association between the administration of the vaccine and the onset of autistic enterocolitis should never have implied causality. The study was important because it identified the colon symptoms present in a subset of patients with ASD as a distinct disorder. But it was misinterpreted in the press, especially for a study where the primary findings involved only 12 patients.
The main author never signed on to the minor retraction. There was nothing close to a confession of "making the whole thing up", but some (questionable) researchers from other institutions have made that accusation.

I recall my last out of work experience ( thank God, a long time ago... ), having recently before been working as a programmer, contract ended, it was *hard* to convince the hiring manager I was worth a shot. And that was *before* the "send everything to India, pay less!" spree...
And it is much harder to get unemployment benefits than you know, having watched some friends go through it.

Nonsense. The producers of CFCs realized that there was more money to be made in producing (and patenting) the replacements. As an example, look at the price of an Albuterol inhaler. Or think about the cost of recharging an A/C system in comparison to the cost before Freon was banned.
Or you use the volume control within reach of your thumb and not reach for the radio at all, thereby keeping that hand on the steering wheel and improving your overall control.
