Comment Microsoft... (Score 2) 663

how about actually shoring up what you already have in play instead of creating new crapware! WinXP has been the most stable thus far and the biggest reason is due to the length of time it has been in use. We won't even discuss WinME/WinVista since those were complete junk straight out of the chute. Win7 has been doing alright mostly but hasn't been out very long and could use some more improvements. Now, MS is trying to push not only a new version of Windows but a completely revamped desktop version of Windows as well. It didn't get a very good response from people during beta and yet MS went through with releasing it. To not expect sales to be dismal is a bit silly to say the least. Should have kept working Win7 instead of running off to a new project.

Comment Sick of the Apple Bullshit... (Score 0) 385

I have made several Samsung-specific purchases over the past month, partly due to all the crap from the Apple lawsuits. Several of their products have received and continue to receive high reviews from several different users and, likewise, I've been quite happy with my purchases as well. I have just added 3 of their mobile phones (yes, the SIII is one of them!) and 2 of their TV's (a 40" model and a 60" model). The Samsung SIII is replacing my HTC Incredible (another excellent phone) but not due to a problem with my HTC Incredible but simply because I desired an upgrade of both hardware and software. And, the TV's are really nice as well. I am so tired of the continued tech lawsuits, it's gotten so out of hand anymore. It is going to get to the point that we won't being able to write reviews or comment on blog sites because some asshole patented all of the letters of every known alphabet, followed by another asshole that allowed it to be processed for approval. It has gotten absolutely ridiculous!

Comment Nothing new here... (Score 1) 118

All of the U.S. carriers have been doing this from the start. They are all about the double-dipping. Unlike the wired home phone, they've always charged for both the incoming calls as well as the outgoing calls. Now some of the carriers are also the wired internet service providers to many homes as well as our mobile phones. This is now simply just another means for them to continue double-dipping our wallets for the sake of their own.

Comment Block Ads... (Score 1) 79

that's the real solution. It was only a matter of time... this type of exploit (and others to come no doubt) are the strongest argument for blocking ads.

If you want people to buy your app, create a good app and provide a malware/adware/shareware free/lite version of it. If it is a good app then people will buy it. You piss people off before they have a real chance to test your app then you stand to lose that customer. Those that do not buy your app after trying it would not buy it under any circumstance. I will continue to block apps as long as I have a means to do so. And, I will continue to buy apps from those DEV's that actually create good apps and provide them without the hassle of dealing with the garbage on the side.
