Where is the Ark B when we need it??

Piracy is not about sharing data....is about making profit from it. The "legal" frame is another issue....because companies according their own interests make the law.... The best way to combat piracy is to charge us$2 per downloaded movie/music album.

I think things would be much more independent if people is just elected by national lottery numbers.... No campaign, no fundraising, no bribes, no sponsors, low cost..... Maybe the difference would be amazing....to have normal avg people in power positions....senate.....etc....

I remember when I had to study hard, I had to read 3 or 4 textbooks at the same time at the library...I think a tablet will not be suitable for that environment. Also, a the backlight makes my eyes sore after 30 mins.... I think tablets are great devices for other things (vacations, road warriors, doctors, marketing, POS) , but not for education per-se....maybe for edu-tainment .... Nothing better to explain ballistic movement as Angry Birds.... Also, any digital device (tablets, OLPC, netbooks, etc) allows people to access information which was impossible to obtain using other ways. There is no postal cost for that almost-impossible-to-get book...or to watch a movie, listen to the radio from Denmark...read a newspaper from New Zealand.... But we have to remember...is just a tool....is not THE device....there is much more needed than a tablet to educate. Khan Academy has a very interesting program for education...I really like that initiative...and Mr. Williams Gates III was also interested...

I think the issue here is: - What the entertainment corporations want - Who's Govt work for - What is the Govt role in this decision - What consumers want / need - Who decides how things can be changed I think as a consumer, my version of the answers are: - What the entertainment corporations want Infinite money (to be laundered and keep the status quo) - Who's Govt work for well..one more level and we will find them in ebay.... - What is the Govt role in this decision To convince consumers that the right thing to do is to pay 5 times for something that could be paid just once, winking the eye to the corporations and taking every year vacation with all their family in that super fancy shmancy resort...for free.... - What consumers want / need Not to be ripped off by "the law". - Who decides how things can be done/changed We do. I think the big issue here is how to avoid politicians be approached by corporations to vote in their favor. The REAL democracy can only exist when no funding is needed to create and maintain a political party. Reality shows that politicians just exist to take advantage of their situation, receive a salary and collect as much as they can in bribes and favours...

So...if the FBI had access to the data, then the data could have been modified. So this makes all hard drives' data accessed by the fbi not useful for a trial.....right? Weird. I would like to know how many people agree in paying tax dollars to an agency to sneak private data just for a private company benefit. Well... like Irak/Afganistan "war"...use tax dollars through the army, navy, cia, etc... to protect private companies assets...that's a good investment!! Then, there is no money for medicare or public education..... Evolution or involution?

I think the guys at the gov already know that ...but they HAVE to spent as much as they can...and complain about the lack of funds...."well...our budget for 200M wasn't approved, so we had to fight against crime with this baseball bate and a helmet...so don't expect too much from us...."... Also, the problem is the drug cartels / dealers make so much money, they can buy all the enforcement and judges they want... The "legal" winners in this are the providers of weapons, ammo and gear....they love this "pseudo war state".... every "fight against the drugs", they cash some $. So, I would like to introduce a Bill to force govt forces to buy ammo and gear ONLY from govt factories, so the money is not washed..I mean, spent on private corporations. Also, all weapons and bullets in private hands must be confiscated and destroyed, because they could be used for crime or robbery. The law enforcer could seize and arrest any weapon holder without a warrant (special cases, of course). And if you sell bullets on line using a .com web site, that web site will be shut down with a nice banner from the FBI and DHS. Maybe you could still have access using the IP instead. Oh..and every voip and skype conversation must be recorded at the ISP for at least 4 years. Just in case. Of course, the "cost" of this will be paid by the user....without any tax relief...we are in a deep economic crisis now!...so, keep working 50hs/week, no raise, less benefits....remember? we are in deep economic recession...so...I will go to play golf with my friends just for 6 hours....I finish my job here. bye.

Well ...these "intermediate" guys are close to extinction...they got as much as they could from artists, musicians, movies.....and now the consumer downloads the music or movie almost from the source. No more need of packaging, logistics, marketing, etc....(and also, they always " triple priced " everything between their own companies to wash some $, of course) So now they are begging for some change, because "the people is downloading music or movies". The real problem is when people in the Govt is "tempted", for example, with trips to Whistler or Mt Tremblant for all the family, in a fancy shmancy place, with a fireplace and 2 snowmobiles parked in the garage, free access to private hockey booth (10k/year) to watch a couple of matches, or any pseudo bribery method. ...On the other hand, teachers are on strike (BC) and the public health care system is starting to collapse.... I prefer to vote projects than parties. The political/judicial/exec system is a huge Ponzi scheme, where the taxpayer has to pay and the politicians and friends collect the monies.

You should share it with "la familia"....otherwise, you will be prosecuted ... Check out the guys who stole billions from investors in Wall Street....they share some the profit with the "authorities", and now they walk free.... So, the lesson is.....are you with "us" or a "terrorist for the system"?

Research is basically about failure, not success. Banging the head against the wall... Is like walking blindfolded into a theoretical barn, looking for THE needle. There is no 100% successful researcher. That's BS. I think "Forcing" to publish goes against serious research.

IT is just like a car....you can run for a while...until you need gas. No gas, no energy to move the car. Pushing the car is against the purpose of the car. - Establish a plan with milestones and goals. Offer alternatives. Use open source. If somebody insist in $0 budget, ask him/her advice in how to do that and if he/she want to join you to make it happen. I don't know how to run a car with an empty tank with no gas. I've used LTSP once and it's cool to boot a class of 40 diskless PCs with PXE. Using a 100 Mbps network, they even boot much faster than any MS product.
