Have you heard the one about a homeowner foreclosing on a bank? Well, it has happened in Florida and involves a North Carolina based bank. Instead of Bank of America foreclosing on some Florida homeowner, the homeowners had sheriff's deputies foreclose on the bank. It started five months ago when Bank of America filed foreclosure papers on the home of a couple, who didn't owe a dime on their home. The couple said they paid cash for the house. The case went to court and the homeowners were able to prove they didn't owe Bank of America anything on the house. In fact, it was proven that the couple never even had a mortgage bill to pay. A Collier County Judge agreed and after the hearing, Bank of America was ordered, by the court to pay the legal fees of the homeowners', Maurenn Nyergers and her husband. The Judge said the bank wrongfully tried to foreclose on the Nyergers' house. So, how did it end with bank being foreclosed on? After more than 5 months of the judge's ruling, the bank still hadn't paid the legal fees, and the homeowner's attorney did exactly what the bank tried to do to the homeowners. He seized the bank's assets. "They've ignored our calls, ignored our letters, legally this is the next step to get my clients compensated, " attorney Todd Allen told CBS. Sheriff's deputies, movers, and the Nyergers' attorney went to the bank and foreclosed on it. The attorney gave instructions to to remove desks, computers, copiers, filing cabinets and any cash in the teller's drawers. After about an hour of being locked out of the bank, the bank manager handed the attorney a check for the legal fees. "As a foreclosure defense attorney this is sweet justice" says Allen.

Iranian people have been fighting against the Islamic regime for about 30 years (since the Islamic revolution) and they realized that cannot fight against guns. That is why seeing the Islamic government going against itself is a positive momentum. They only wished they had better access to Twitter, SayNow, and Facebook.

surfslasher writes: I think Shantanu Narayen finally realized that there is no need to fight Steve Jobs and the only way to address the Flash issue is to correct it! However, who knows how much is done and how late he is to the game... If in a year you ask someone to install Flash and he says, "What is Flash" you know that either Shantanu was late or Flash still sucks... or both!

the_therapist writes: WikiLeaks posted the eponymous document "The WikiLeaks Threat", a deconstruction of WikiLeak"s organization and vulnerabilities, in which "three data intelligence companies, ZereoHedge write "Plantir Technologies, HBGary Federal and Berico Technologies, outline a plan to attack WikiLeaks. They are acting upon request from Hunton and Williams, a law firm working for Bank of America. The Department of Justice recommended the law firm to Bank of America according to an article in The Tech Herald." ...I'm not sure if HBGary is still part of the group given recent events.

silverpig writes: Google has extended the ability of gmail users to call standard phone numbers through their web browser through 2011. It also allows users with a google voice account to make and receive standard phone calls through the browser as well.

Do people still actually use this? I know it got a lot of use in the first few weeks of its existence, but it wasn't always reliable, with dropped calls and skipping audio.

This version of the iPhone would be noticeably smaller than the current version. An inside person at Apple claims to have seen the prototype version of the iPhone but asks not to be mentioned because the plans have not gone public yet. Also mentioned was the fact that Apple is working to make the iPhone easier to switch between wireless carriers. It will support a dual mode operation that will be able to switch between CDMA and GSM networks worldwide. We can see evidence of this change in the newest Verizon iPhone 4 released to the public. Apple is also researching a sim-less version of this phone as well.

Further we read: Domscheit-Berg "damaged" WikiLeaks infrastructure and "stole material," WikiLeaks said Wednesday, and the website said it is taking legal action against him-- though Domscheit-Berg denied that. (I'm not clear on what it would mean to 'steal material' from something like WikiLeaks...)

surfslasher writes: The article starts with "TOOLS dug up in the Middle East prove humans walked out of Africa 50,000 years earlier than thought." ... this is something that the "Western" world has been blinded with for so long. Most archeologists and historians have been determined to prove that humans come from Africa but sometimes we hear stories that counters this assumption and shows evidence that humans existed almost everywhere on Earth and on Africa as well. I think it just rhymes with the biblical or extraterrestrial stories and books that we come from somewhere else and that is what we are trying and have to prove. Soon we will start proving that everything came from Africa... Dracula, space shuttles, cars, animals, bacteria, Adam and Eve... oh wait.. Adam and Eve did come from Africa! ;)

LOL... I like how you make up stuff as you go when you say: "Today, Apple spends virtually no money on research, as you can see from their non-existent research output (=publications, citations), from their lack of hiring in computer science research, and from their lack of interaction with computer science departments. Furthermore, the iPhone and almost all its fundamental technologies were invented elsewhere."
