Comment And yet the NSA knows nothing... (Score 1) 73

With their billions of petabytes of data, they still didn't see this coming or actually know who did it. The FBI treats identity theft as a LOW PRIORITY crime, they usually advise you to get credit monitoring and then they do zero to catch the criminals.

Mark my words: Nothing will be done. BAU. Our government's policy is "you are on your own", unless you were attached by a muslim terrorist, in which case, they will spend trillions on security theater.

Comment Yet, they spend millions in advertising... (Score 1) 229

Yet, they spend millions in advertising telling us why we should love them. Hey, Cable Companies, here's an idea. Instead of spending the millions/billions you'd spend on TV commericials, use that money instead to hire REAL LIVE HUMANS WHO SPEAK ENGLISH to answer the phone, and actually provide CUSTOMER SERVICE.

It's one thing to pay the highest rates in the world for TV and internet service, but it's another to know that I'm paying so much, and you're simply pocketing the money while your call center is in India and it takes 30 to 45 minutes to get an "agent" on the phone!

Comment Re:So Hillery is fine but Dennis is a criminal, hu (Score 1) 510

The Iraq war was all politics too. Dubya didn't like Saddam Hussein, so, we invaded a soverign nation, killed hundreds of thousands and blew trillions of dollars, while also creating an entire generation of kids who are amputees.

You don't live in a open, free society. Get used to it, this is only going to get worse, because the government is corrupt and has been for some time.

Comment For those who don't know what Linux is... (Score 2) 366

Coming up next on Slashdot... Linux is an operating system, kinda like Windows or Mac OS, but built by a bunch of neckbeards, and uses about the same amount of space as 10 compressed music files. Some versions use less, some use more depending upon how it's configured.

Wow; I think it's time to move on from Slashdot. Taco would be spinning in his grave, assuming he was dead.

Comment Can't wait for the NSA bricking app (Score 1) 94

Sooner or later, every digital device we "own" will also be owned by the NSA, and they will have the ability to brick it. Even your car (thanks OnStar) will be bricked. For what purpose? Who knows? But it's clear that we have more to fear from the pricks at the NSA than we do from any hacker, terrorist or criminal, as the NSA is pure evil.

Congratulations; you summed up the entire GOP immigration debate as in "Hi I'm Bill O'Rielly, blowhard for Right Wing Nut Jobs. I'm the son of an Irish immigrant and i just HATE all the Mexicans coming into the country."

Comment Iraq War (Score 1) 65

Funny thing, but the Iraq war worked the same way. George Bush took the word of an informant (who would later turn out to be an Iranian spy); that Iraq had WMD.

No real investigation was done, and we invaded a country and slaughtered many hundreds of thousands, destabilized the entire region and ended up creating ISIS.

So, yeah, this kind of stuff happens all the time.
