If Slashdot closed tomorrow, would Dice notice? It's not incompetence, it's apathy. Slashdot is a hollowed out shell that the spammers moved into, and it's only part of a collection of trinkets sitting on Dice's coffee table. Look at their history, nothing but a very fluid series of mergers and acquisitions. It has to be a tax thing.

I don't really know, or even care that much. The voters get what they want. It's just something to talk about, like the weather, or the Cubs. The presidency is ceremonial, like any other political position that answers to the money that fills the seat. In Reagan's case, he was 'discovered', or maybe rediscovered after the Dean Martin Roasts. I was very disappointed when Goldwater lost, I hated Johnson. Evidently, so did Nixon, but for different reasons. But... I'm the 'crazy conspiracy theorist'. I always did find the Official Narrative quite boring, and frankly quite incredible.

Glad there's more choices, and no, I don't feel like I'm throwing my vote away.

No, you are not throwing your vote away, the people who vote republican/democrats are. Actually they are selling their votes, to the glitziest promises. It is the voters who support big money, by voting for big money candidates over and over.

No joke... Scarcity is nothing but the result of a dispute over the price. Or maybe you weren't around in '73 or '79. Or maybe you didn't follow the Enron thing. It's simple manipulation. Why would you doubt such a thing? Because they deny it? And you believe them? Eh, your choice. But you only show that you are the one that's out of touch.

It's true. Y'all are dyin' off. And all the new kids will be voting for the Backstreet Boys. But... you gotta admit, Hillary would have been the best republican since Eisenhower, with Cheney as her running mate, a real go-to team. A lot of them will vote for her anyway probably. And another thing, you know it's just too easy to get ol' boy to come and defend his precious democrats. Fish in a barrel, not very sporting, is it? :-)
