Submission + - Alternate pdf reading devices

elocinanna writes: "Hey slashies, I have a ton of pdf books, mainly from project guthenburg but very rarely get a chance to read them. Most probably because when I'm on the computer there are far more instantly gratifying sources of information at my fingertips (the internet) and it really hurts my concentration for things like books. I'd really like to get a portable device to read my pdfs on, but the ebook readers like the kindle (not available in UK anyway) are ridiculously expensive for just a screen, some storage and a single-function OS. I have tried reading on my PSP, and am not too put off by the small screen, but the loading takes a good 30 seconds between top half of the page and bottom which is unacceptable. I've heard GPS devices are good for this type of thing, but can't find anything on the internet about which specific model and program etc. I do have a Nintendo DS and PSP both capable of homebrew if there are any solutions there. I'm willing to try anything up to around £100. Any suggestions?"
