As you point out, there's certainly a market out there. But the next question coming to my mind is : would that prioritization come at the expense of the standard user's comfort? By the moment they switch their prioritization on, will we see our latencies and bandwidth melt like snow under the sun, to the point where we'll become obliged to buy their package?

The only reason I can see a video game not working because of mis-matched dates is because of DRM, there is no - and neither should there be, any reason why a game should be dependent on any date.

Which leaves me pondering of Ubi Soft's move to enforce online connection to play their latest games. Yes, this is a sidenote, but it seems eye-opening of potential issues and customer relations for this DRM model.

Submission + - PSN issues on March 1 & DRM intricacies

XAD1975 writes: As of 00:00 GMT the night of Feb 28 to March 1, 2010, Playstation Network seems to be experiencing issues with all "old" consoles, i.e. not the Slim model.

It has been reported on boards that the older models were locked out of PSN which implies no online gaming and, more troubling, no solo gaming for those games that require identification with Sony's servers, typically those purchased on the PSN Store.

However, at this time, still no news from Sony on the issue.

This won't prevent me from driving 15 minutes to enter France and buy my games there. However, as Swiss Citizen, I feel concerned since: 1. This law will infantilize me and strip me from my adult judgment over what is good or bad for me. 2. This law doesn't deal with the real issue which is the lack of liability of today's parents in their progeniture's education. They tend to rely more and more on school & State to raise the kids they chose to have. 3. Child Pornography and Video Games are put together in this extract while they are different issues to be adressed. 4. What about other medias carying violence such as TV, Theatre, Sport, etc?
