I'm not sure if this is on-topic or not, but this one of the reasons why the BSD license is better than the GPL. It allows you to open source everything except the code with the business value. The GPL forces you to open source everything.

There is a trend in some of our local (PH) pharmacies, where they would pay a licensed pharmacist to show his license to authorities. Then, they would hire unlicensed sales ladies in lieu of a pharmacist. The pharmacist gets paid without working, and the pharmacy would end up with less costs. Win-win.

MIT Creates Chip to Model Synapses 220
MrSeb writes with this excerpt from an Extreme Tech article: "With 400 transistors and standard CMOS manufacturing techniques, a group of MIT researchers have created the first computer chip that mimics the analog, ion-based communication in a synapse between two neurons. Scientists and engineers have tried to fashion brain-like neural networks before, but transistor-transistor logic is fundamentally digital — and the brain is completely analog. Neurons do not suddenly flip from '0' to '1' — they can occupy an almost-infinite scale of analog, in-between values. You can approximate the analog function of synapses by using fuzzy logic (and by ladling on more processors), but that approach only goes so far. MIT's chip is dedicated to modeling every biological caveat in a single synapse. 'We now have a way to capture each and every ionic process that's going on in a neuron,' says Chi-Sang Poon, an MIT researcher who worked on the project. The next step? Scaling up the number of synapses and building specific parts of the brain, such as our visual processing or motor control systems. It is now seeking damages from Apple for a temporary seizure of its products by Spanish customs. Furthermore they are pursuing an antitrust complaint against Apple, alleging abusive anticompetitive behavior."

Making the poor a bit poorer is the an easy way to get rich, but it's not the best way, nor is it the only way. Just look at America, the land of Capitalism. It's so funny that Americans are currently protesting why they are so poor, because when you look at facts, it is very clear that they are rich:

For entertainment, the household had two color televisions, cable or satellite TV, a DVD player, and a VCR. You have just made a case for Capitalism. In an ideal Capitalist society, the rich will get richer, but the poor will get richer as well. Since "richness" is relative, rich people would no longer be filthy rich.
