The only thing Iconic about Future Shop is that it charged 200% to much, had horrible tech service and completely unqualified and untrained works who couldn't even pass a simple IT / Tech Test. I had an interview years ago at Future Shop for a tech position and at that time, I held more certificates then the "Manager", who claimed your A+ ( which is a joke ), was qualification, this was in high school.

Good code starts with the right language for the job and the developer, then you have to follow the best practices for that language. How I program in C# and PHP is far different from how I program in C and ASM. The one thing that doesn't make code is abundant use of catch phrases.

Your plates store information about your car, hence you know from looking the number up, everything to know about the car via reference lookup. Wireless is easily fast enough to deal with the latency for it so no problem there, infact you could also get information about the driver, so really you do have a good deal of information at your car to decide what to do.

If the software fails for some reason, a good hardware design will step in to save it so again no problem :-)

Well being that I develop embedded level software that could deal with this kind of problem, I can actually summarize exactly how I start:

Lets just assume the object we're concerned about is in front of you!

Step 1: Turn on all cameras and sensors
Step 2: Cut all engine power
Step 3: Using the license plate of the car in front of you determine what would happen if you hit it.
Step 4: Compute what would happen if you hit the person
Step 5: What ever has less damage execute
Step 6: Dump massive logs to solid state storage
Step 7: Call police, send them the files automatically
Step 8: Run diagnostics to determine driver error or manufacturing issue
Step 9: Done.

Not that hard to do ....

Well except that in Ontario Canada, you can't hit a jwalker as you'd still be totally at fault. Pedestrians have total and absolute right of way, you'd have almost a 0% chance of fighting it in court.

Just weight the situation, if the car you're in is going 40 km/h and you know that you can slow to 20 km/h then hit the car in front of you because the pedestrian won't survive. Also you'll have access the license plate, so you can easily look up information on the family in the car and get the stats of everyone in the car. More then enough data will exist at the time at the accident to judge it properly, what is the issue? You'll have more information then any normal driver would. It really is just black and white.

The master records should never reside at the school or even the school board in the first place, thanks to nightly back ups and redundant copies of critical data, they have nothing to worry about. As for catching up once the system is unlocked, that is just simply a case of data entry, which is time consuming but can get done if you just do it, so again, no real issue. The software should be flexible enough to not care when the data gets entered so that shouldn't be an issue and if it is, time to look for new software. So if everything really does to hell in a hand basket, it all doesn't matter because you can go at it manually.

It's funny that schools got along without computers for thousands of years, now all of a sudden they're required. Well how about going the non electronic route until the problem is solved...... not that hard to figure out.

Absolutely, Mother T was insane, she was directly responsible for the deaths of MILLIONS of people and did it all in cold blood with no remorse. At least Hitler knew what he was doing was killing, Mother T actually thought she was helping. It's been well record that many in her care would of been fine if they would of seen a doctor, yet she denied even them! She was the direct result of MILLION of people dying.

She also used her corrupt moral fucked views to influence governments into blocking birth control, abortions and common sense. Every single person harmed as a result by her actions in that matter is a death on her head. Every rape victim who couldn't abort the child of the monster act and who by direct response would of been killed, is on her head. Every girl disowned by her family because they got raped and couldn't abort, is on her head. She was a monster, she is worse then Hitler, she is disgusting human and I'm glad she's dead.

Religion is the root of hate and intolerance, if you look at what has been carried out in the name of religion, it's horrid. On the short list and in the front of any rational humans mind is Mother T, killing machine extraordinary and Hitler, both who took MILLIONS of lives in the name of the church.

Why bother mentioning this?

Well if you're going to claim that you need your religious beliefs protected and respected, then you better come to the table with one hell of an offer as to why. Religion is the reason that same sex marriage was even a question, it was the reason why we should be allowed to lie to children in a classroom, it's the reason why people are put to death because they believe differently, it's the reason why we have generalized hate.

If you want me respect your literally bat shit crazy religion beliefs then you have to provide me equal or greater evidence then I can provide you to the contrary. It's time to get rid of religion, it's the security blanket for the immature, irrational and illogical adult. It's the reason we have hate and intolerance and it teach kids and adult that giving up and giving in are perfectly acceptable even when your final answer is just WRONG.

Gender balancing is the wrong concept at play, it doesn't matter if a female / male does 0% of a project or 100% of a project, it's a meaningless percentage to take. The very fact that you've broke the system down to look at it as a percentage of work means that you're concept of fairness isn't genuine. Fairness means you extract the very fact that a person is a man or woman and just see them as human, a human wrote this, a human wrote that, not a male or female. All these tests prove is that we need an excuse to not be sexist, well the only people who aren't are the people who don't need a test to be fair.

Forcing students to learn coding is like forcing students to learn Shakespeare, it's pointless to some and great to others. We need to radically restructure the education system so we teach towards the strengths of students and not force them to take some of everything.

This is why we need to stop letting stupid ideas rule the universe like it's a right. Generally the type of people who being in Homepathy also believe in Gods, Spirits, Ghosts, Magic and all manor of bat shit crazy. Didn't science fix this problem century's ago? If you can't repeat the test with verified results then it doesn't work, what ever happened to teaching this line of reasoning?
