they sued geocoder.ca and its founder Ervin Ruci (who created the site while a graduate student in computer science at carleton university in 2004). the data from geocoder.ca is used on many large sites, for eg go to www.openstreetmap.org and look up a postal code, say K2C1N5 . they are not going after the big sites though, at least not just yet.
