GRBs to the best of my knowledge release (at least) two separate bursts at different energy levels at separate intervals... One (at least) high energy, the other lower. I'm guessing that's where the delay figures in. I believe the lower energy burst is referred to as an "afterglow". That's from memory, so I may be off.

I may be wrong, I haven't looked into this in years... But isn't THIS cycle the cycle that by their calendar the sun (Sol) is set to start dying? Even by their records, this supposedly gives us another 50,000 years before it's over. As mentioned, it's been years since I read up on this... I don't think much of prophecy, especially when it's misinterpreted. For all those who believe this is real... Start running up your credit card debt NOW!

Sounds about right. I went into BestBuy for a long CAT5 cable (I needed it that day). I looked around for a bit and they didn't have anything longer than 12ft. I needed about 50ft. The salesperson there told me "They don't make cables that long, the signal gets poor above 12 ft." Being a network admin and knowing the truth I continued on and asked him for a solution. He took a couple of the 12 ft cables + some CAT5 extenders (just cable extenders) and he assured me that they "bumped up" the signal to go the extra distance. The price for everything was about 4X more than I was willing to spend (imagine that!). I drove back to my home in the next town over and made the cable myself. I do not buy anything there anymore. Buyer beware!

Technically Uranium *could* get them off planet. Extensive research was done by both the USSR and USA on nuclear propulsion drives. That being said, it probably wouldn't be ideal due to contamination. It probably wouldn't do to spread fallout over a planet we will likely colonize one day (if we don't wipe ourselves out first).
