To be honest I couldn't care less what's in their hearts, as long as their actions mirror what they say. They're a faceless corporation, not my grandmother; if the CEO secretly wants to murder elephants, well that's none of my concern, and neither is their secret feelings towards SOPA; as long as they don't screw the pooch by creating corporate policy for it, I say let them be.

Hugh Pickens writes "For sheer social awkwardness, it's hard to beat finally seeing those people in person that you never liked in high school but are 'friends' with on Facebook. The NY Times reports that both attendance and the number of high school reunions held have dropped in recent years — thanks, some say, to Facebook and similar sites, nobody really has to lose touch anymore. 'There was a Facebook page for my 20-year college reunion, which took place this May,' says Deborah Dietzler. 'I looked at it a couple of times and it didn't seem like anyone I knew would be there, so I lost interest.' 'Social networking has robbed us of our nostalgia,' adds Michael Fox, who attended his 20-year high school reunion in November at a bar in Larchmont, NY to see the adult version of his classmates but was disappointed to find there was little he didn't already know because of Facebook. Others say the familiarity bred by social networking enhance the high school reunion experience. 'It's enticing. It's like a little preview, seeing everyone's life online,' says Holly Goshin. 'And whether you're happy that someone is not doing as well as you or you're happy that they look amazing, you get to see it all in person. Then you can move on with your life.'"

thank you, I guess, for pointing out that earthquakes and tsunamis do indeed suck and destroy stuff. People will just get compensations and move on to somewhere else. There were definately WORSE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhopal_disaster) disasters than this and It is worth taking for what it is. Also there are areas that are intentionaly and knowingly made into deserts/toxic lakes or whatever, and it's no disaster at all... so... 12 miles radius is not that big of a chunk to ward off and let smolder in ruins, wouldn't be the biggest or out of proportion dead-zone of the world.

you must have missed the later added content. new breed of AI uses quite advanced tactics, and even tho they are so far focused on taking you down, not keeping themselves alive (that's what PVP is about) they pack quite a punch. and in 10 days these new breed AI npcs come in a form of incursion, that should fuel both pve and pvp content fuse .... im not sure this will end well, but there's only one way to see.

lothos writes: PayPal has released a statement on their blog: “PayPal has permanently restricted the account used by WikiLeaks due to a violation of the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy, which states that our payment service cannot be used for any activities that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity. We’ve notified the account holder of this action.”

This move comes right on the heels of Amazon cutting off hosting for wikileaks.org and EasyDNS.net terminating DNS services for wikileaks.org.

mpawlo writes: It seems like Wikileaks is finally starting to learn that corporations do not provide free speech or services as such. This week Wikileaks has not been able to use Amazon's cloud service, then its domain name hosting got into trouble, then some of its other hosting disappeared and now Paypal "permanently restricts" Wikileaks account. This due to EULA violations, namely "payment service cannot be used for any activities that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity". The Web and the Internet is fantastic to facilitate free speech, but in practice there is no real safeguards for it, when the sh*t hits the fan for real. You may be a supporter or a non-supporter to Wikileaks, but that is in my opinion the real story here.

PUBLIC. and they can do nothing about it also add Streisand effect to it (should make a good impression) also add some "jokes" gone bad from failbook or similar (as ilustrations) they do this everyday, and might just not know what they do untill they see others screwed, so if you have a chance make sure it's not them on the recieving end

Fallout Online Website Arises Amid Legal Battle 85

Rumors of a Fallout MMO have been swirling for years, made all the more credible by hints from the legal battle between Bethesda and Interplay over licensing for the franchise. Now, Interplay has quietly created a teaser website for Fallout Online, offering beta sign-ups. Quoting Massively: "Currently, there isn't much there, just a brief glimpse at a workshop desk with various Fallout references to the Master, Brahmin, and Nuka-Cola before a form obscures the screen. ... It looks legit, too: Interplay is promoting Fallout Online from their main website, and the new teaser site is indeed registered to Interplay Entertainment Corp."
