On December 23, a little more than a month after Tipton allegedly tampered with the computers, a man at a convenience store was video taped buying a Hot Lotto ticket that later won the $14.3 million payout. Authorities identified the man as Tipton, but as an employee of the association that administered the lottery, he was barred by law from buying lotto tickets or claiming lottery prizes. The winning ticket went unclaimed for almost a year. Hours before it was scheduled to expire, a company incorporated in Belize tried to claim the prize through a New York attorney

I'm certainly not the best Windows / MS supporter. However when it comes to the man, whatever we may think he did, he deserves at least the benefit of the doubt. Bill Gates may have said "640K is enough" at the time, but don't over underestimate him to insinuate he said "640K will always be enough".

Reminds me of the DSLR cameras megapixels race. The 5 D mark III has a resolution of 50 MP. Not only that makes huge file sizes, it takes ages to move or process a bunch of them, but the focus shift and (most) lenses intrinsic resolution cannot cope with such high definition (in other terms, a lot of 2-adjacent pixels are identical).

In France, the SACEM is in charge of having any "music player" to pay something. "Music players" include TV, radio, nightclubs and even restaurants, cafés... someone plays some music, and there is always a SACEM agent to ensure they pay something, these people are as sticky as a pita.
