"SS numbers, ID Cards, Etcetera" My point being that people have been interpreting things as the number of the beast, I would imaging since the revelations was written. The fact that it is happening in India is nothing new.
People in the US have stated that they think the SS number is the mark of the beast http://www.greaterthings.com/Conspiracy/SSN_SocialSecurityNumber_666/ I am sure that before that there are tons of other marks of the beast.
Maybe they all are and we are damned, maybe you are only damned if you believe that you are. That is the beauty of religion. Belief makes it real, at least the the believers.

Yes, Illegals that pay for fake SS numbers. Huge market, the important thing is that they let them back on the streets and don't bother to deport them because the immigration police are too busy busting websites that are linking to movies for Hollywood. Go AMERICA!

Clearly figurative, if you cannot figure out that the bible was written to explain things to people from a time period and that it has been translated a million times by many different authors, then you missed history class. It can be interpreted to prove almost any point. Which is why it is so commonly used.

Wait the us already has that. It is called a Social Security #.

I would counter to say that voters typically do not continue to elect the good ones. "Conservative" that does not mean republicans, people who are ok with the way things are will continue to vote for who ever is in power because they are ok with the way things are. Also once you are in power you have a whole slew of lobbiest that give you $$$ to pass there laws. This in turn finances your campaign and since many undecided voters vote off of name recognition this keeps them in power indefinitely. There challengers simply cannot afford to run against them.

...we need this on all elected positions. It is stupid that congressman X has been there 40 years and has accumulated so many favors that any of his pet projects get through and no real change happens. Why because the incumbent gets re-elected 98% of the time. With Term limits they would have to go get real jobs after say 12 years total.

Submission + - Updated from previous submissionBenchmark Software

tdisalvo writes: I am wondering what is the best type of benchmark software out there. We are doing a Windows 7 roll-out and I will have to compare major PC vendors and I am looking for vendor neutral tests that will give me the data I need to present an educated opinion to my CIO. Clear pretty charts are nice since it is for C level execs and we need to make it understandable for nontechnical as well as technical people. More specifically I am looking for something that will clearly show how the same processor performs better or worse with a particular build, motherboard, RAM Power Supply, ect. My plan is to try and get very similar machines from major vendors and see which ones build has the highest independent bench marks. Something that would be able to roll up test on multiple computers and report on the differences in score would be idea. Also free is better :-)

Doctors Seeing a Rise In "Google-itis" 368

It's one of the fastest-growing health issues that doctors now face: "Google-itis." Everyone from concerned mothers to businessmen on their lunch break are typing in symptoms and coming up with rare diseases or just plain wrong information. Many doctors are bringing computers into examination rooms now so they can search along with patients to alleviate their fears. "I'm not looking for a relationship where the patient accepts my word as the gospel truth," says Dr. James Valek. "I just feel the Internet brings so much misinformation to the (exam) room that we have to fight through all that before we can get to the problem at hand."

Submission + - SPAM: Home Design Software

tdisalvo writes: I am wondering what kind of software there is out there for home design/remolding. I know that I can use Auto Cad which is the old stand by that can draw just about anything but I am looking for something a bit more user friendly. I have a 2 flat and I am looking to do some redesign to maximize my property. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I figured I would go to the more techocentric people to see what is out there as opposed to a more traditional home improvement website.
