Videos are hugely helpful for learning DIY stuff on the web. I can't fathom the number of times videos on the web have helped me learn how to do something I would normally not be comfortable doing.

Just today, I took apart the glovebox in my car because I watched someone do it on Youtube and realized that it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.

This actually did amuse me. Apparently tapping icons on a phone screen isn't a natural progression from clicking icons on a computer screen, which as you point out Apple didn't come up with in the first place.

If tapping icons on a touchscreen is a natural progression from the desktop, why did Apple have to re-invent the touchscreen to make it happen? Before the iPhone first hit the market, touchscreens were a relic.

I find it surprising that 34% is an accurate number. After all, the word "3G" is on the screen pretty much 100% of the time.

There's likely a clock on your operating system 100% of the time. Do you always know the time, or do you have to check?

Change gear? Bah, most Americans haven't seen a manual transmission. Honestly, I think they should be mandatory for new drivers over here. They force you to pay attention to what you're doing.

Pretend, just for the sake of this discussion, that you lived in Germany. You take your children to a nice wholesome bookstore and start browsing the magazines. In plain sight, right next to all of the normal magazines, is a large array of porn. Stuff like that is standard fare in Germany, and other Euro countries. How would you handle that?

People in those countries simply emphasize that sex is not a big deal.
