And, it's not like you can opt out
...if you have a phone with Wi-Fi enabled
You could always just, you know, turn off wifi on your phone.
You can go through life with just vocational training an certification with a nice paying job. Just keep in mind you will be the first to get axed and vs the low experienced degree'd person.
I work with people making over 50K a year, 40 hours a week, available overtime, 4-5 weeks paid vacation, annual profit sharing, and fairly regular raises, and best of all job security, all with only requiring a high school degree. To me that sounds a lot better than making 60-70k while working 50+ hours a week and not knowing when your job is going to be outsourced and finding yourself unemployed.
If you want job security, manual labor is exactly what you want. Plumbing, mechanic, welding, etc; all of these are jobs that require people on site, and require levels of competence and skill that preclude both offshoring and outsourcing. Managers with an MBA are a dime a dozen. A skilled mechanic with an A&P is a lot harder to replace.
The people you're talking about go through a ton of screening before being allowed onto an aircraft.
As someone who works at an airport, no, they don't.
I bet Vladimir Putin isn't man enough to leave next month and travel to the moon, then plant the Russian flag on the surface of it.
Wouldn't work. When they show the picture of him planting that flag on the moon while not wearing a shirt everyone will know it was photoshopped.
I had a friend who worked in the finance dept of a car dealership. People would spend 2 hours trying to wangle the best possible deal from the salesman, beat him down, get free floor mats, whatever. Then they would walk into my friends office. How does $400 a month sound for payments? OK sure. And in 2 seconds they would agree to a loan at 12% where the banks would have given them 5%. And the dealer would earn an extra $3k on the car loan.
I went into a dealer just about 3 weeks ago, told the salesman I wanted a new car, was trading in my truck, and wanted to spend no more than $130 a month over 3 years. He almost fainted and then basically called me crazy. The sales manager even tried to get me to lease a car instead of buying. Ended up walking out of there with a new car(end of the model year) for $125 a month for 3 years with $10,300 trade in on my truck (KBB value around $9900 and needed about $2k worth of work-not including some cosmetic body work) and $2k down. Think I end up paying about $300 in interest if I take all 3 years, but plan to pay it off sooner. I save more in gas than my monthly payments cost. The trick was knowing what we wanted and refusing to budge from it.
Why would any intelligent creature want anything to do with us?
because we have Elvis and Beethoven, and they don't.
I thought the aliens already got Elvis.....
How about some shareholders agreeing to make slightly less profit on their investments
Airlines are already notoriously bad investments.
Delta's stock price has increased 400% since 2009. That's 5 years. Still sure about "notoriously bad investment"?
"pirated" is not the verb you want there, it's "stolen". To equate piracy with theft is purely political and thus retarded and dilutes the meaning of both words.
You wouldn't download a tank......
Why yes, yes I would
Assuming that you are implying American boots/bombs on the ground in the Ukraine, are you crazy? I mean seriously. Are you?
We could send in the Germans, but we should probably wait until after the winter to do that.
Think about it: Where is the money going to come for all these cameras?
Federal/state/local governments aren't exactly flush with cash right now so either taxes will need to be increased to purchase said cameras or something will have to be cut (and that opens up a whole other can of worms.)
Or the departments could just take the funding they put aside for a couple surplus MRAPs and buy these cameras instead. These cameras have the added effect of actually improving officer/civilian safety (less chance of violence on both sides if they know a camera is recording) with the only downside being the cops don't have bad-ass trucks they can ride around in while pretending they're Marines riding through downtown Fallujah.
