"reviewing alternative theories" So teaching Pastafarianism creation, or Satanist, Wiccan, Buddhist, Norse (the list goes on) should also be taught as alternate theories? There's already a class for that, it's called Religious Education, it's usually quite distinct from science. It's a science class, where science is taught, a religious class is where religion is taught, if science was taught in RE, then there would be a mob of imbeciles clamouring to get it kicked out; yet again it signifies religious group's hypocritical nature.

See, the older generations grew up with computers as these big, fragile things; you couldn't fuck around too much, otherwise something might break and it would be all your fault

My grandmother is at times quite frightened when she uses her laptop in case she 'breaks it', there have been quite a few times where she's minimised something or Windows has displayed a pop-up of some type and she's concerned to do anything in cases things go wrong.

X-rays don't bounce, they penetrate or are absorbed, so would need a two-part system (and a lead apron for the user).

Hold on. If x-rays either penetrate or are absorbed why does the user need a lead apron? Why can't they just stand behind the machine and be safe?

Scatter radiation is produced when the x-rays interact with mass (the patient) in addition to the x-ray beam being divergent; people wear lead aprons to protect against the effects of scatter radiation. I think the OP was more referring to how ultrasound is reflected from surfaces to gain an image and how x-rays have to pass through and attenuated by the patient then an image receptor is used to gain a useful image.
