Journal Journal: Impressive
Why do we worry about who we are?
Why do we always want to one-up others, and show that we're better? What's the point of bragging rights?
Why do we care about who others think we are?
Why do we want to be accepted by the people around us?
Because we're insecure.
Yes, that means, quite possibly, you. You and your attempt at being better than everyone else--your false and uncalled for elitism--show desperation in wanting to be accepted by society, to blend into or stand out from others around you.
Bragging rights? Alright. So you have a better proc or GPU. Good for you. Does anyone else honestly give a crap? They shouldn't, but they do, because they're also insecure and want to be better than everyone else.
It's this malicious cycle that gives us our competitive spirit, that makes us a little bit less human(e).
