Comment Re:Just like pints. (Score 1) 238

There's already a rule about the size of the head but as usual it vaguely defined. As I remember it, "the head may not form a substantial part of the pint". This isn't helped by the fact that some drinks, e.g. lagers and ciders generally don't have much of a head at all, while others such as Guinness are expected to have a comparatively deep one.

The only way you're likely to get a landlord to top off your drink is if a) they're obviously taking the piss and b) you're not the only one at the bar. Having your punters see you fleece a customer is bad for business.

The article is light on details, which is giving me some trouble forming an opinion. If the photographer published these pictures then I agree wholeheartedly that doing so is an invasion of the subjects privacy. On the other hand, if I were to take some intimate pictures of my partner solely for my own enjoyment* that's a different matter entirely.

*How much enjoyment is to be had depends on how clean or messy the break-up was, I suppose.

Perhaps the paper should archive old articles and hide them from Google. They actually obey robots.txt, don't they? The way I see it, the ones who hold personal information should be the ones held to account rather than the ones that facilitate access to publicly published information (regardless of age).

I wouldn't say ITER = bad, so much as ITER = big. For the amount of money that's been spent on that project, where's the harm in spreading a few million around the smaller projects too? You never know if any of them will bear fruit, and it'd be nice to be able to build a fusion reactor without needing superconducting magnets the size of a house.
