Comment Too complex for politicians (Score 2) 95

I don't think many politicians would bother to use anything this secure as their records would be kept and likely accessible after a court order. Congress doesn't believe it needs to work this hard. They are above the law, exempt really, in many ways. Businesses with valuable trade secrets are a great target market for this technology.

ELI5: This is like adding the length of your hair to your height. It's always been there, but you just decided that it's important enough to add it to your reported height. Are you taller? Nothing really changed. The Milky Way is the same size it was before. We just decided that some extra stuff that's always been there should be include due to it's observed behavior. We do not know nothing. We are always learning.

I believe that up until recently, what is currently called a "polar vortex" was called "arctic air" in a weather forecast. Polar vortex, while being a historical term dating to the 1800's, was rarely used to describe the phenomena of cold cyclonic polar air pushing south. Using it commonly now makes it seem like winter weather patterns have suddenly and drastically changed. They haven't, not in just a couple of years.

I don't think 25 years is long enough to state that there are no life altering injuries, such as brain damage (common with boxers - Ali - and some American football players that experienced multiple concussions) that manifests during middle age or later. Only time will tell just how safe UFC really is. I hope you are correct as UFC is a more enjoyable sport than boxing is to me.

Comment Two time zones. Nope. Just one. (Score 0) 277

N.A. having only one time zone makes sense since it would allow network TV executives to have to think less and put up zero reminders that their awesome entertainment is shown at different times in different time zones. That's so confusing to everyone as thinking is hard. Instead of nine o'clock eastern, it would be simply nine o'clock. So simple even a caveman could do it.
